Does anyone know if passata is ok to use on induction.
The label says the ingredients are 100% sieved tomatoes and nothing else, and i only want to use a very small amount to add taste to a meal
thanks guys
Thanks very much for the carb counter stephen, very helpful of you, now i have a few different ones to look through
It tells me what the carbs are on the bottle of the passata i have....what i needed to know is whether its allowed on induction as i wasnt sure whether it would be classed as a frankenfood as jim says with it being in a jar and not fresh
It wouldn't be classed as a frakenfood as it is just sieved tomatoes. Frakenfoods tend to be heavily processed foods usually with a nice list of additives that sound alien!
If you know the carb count and can factor it within your 20g limit then I would say its fine for induction. I would just make sure that it did not include sugar
Tomatoes are sugary so don't use lots of passata and think of it as a vegetable. Just try and get the lowest carb one you can find and use it sparingly.
