Pataks curry paste

Hi, please could anyone let me know the syns in Pataks curry paste, ive tried making a chicken curry and it was awful, so runny!! yuk! I dont know why it didnt thicken

I tend to use the Pataks sauces to make currys - they vary around 20 - 25 syns for a large jar, but that make enough for 4 people (so around 5 - 7 syns per person) you can always add a full can of tinned tomatoes to make it go even further.
I can't cope with runny tastless currys - so I spend out on the syns!!

Examples of syn values:

Cooking Sauce, Balti, jar, 540g jar =22
Cooking Sauce, Dopiaza, jar, 540g jar =20½
Cooking Sauce, Hot & Spicy Tikka Masala, jar, 500g jar =24
Cooking Sauce, Hot & Spicy Vindaloo, jar, 500g jar =22½
Cooking Sauce, Jalfrezi, jar, 425g jar =20½

Some of them are low syns & give the curry a great base, I use the tikka masala one & have the vindaloo but not tried it yet.

You can get the patakks paste in a jar.. Then add chopped tomatoes and whatever vegs to it. Unsure of syns but think its around 7syns but thats for a huge pan full of curry. You only need to add a tablespoon

Yeah I do this too, mind some of them are lower than that in syns, one is only 1.5-2 per tbsp but can't remember which one tut lol x

Really?? I've been cheating myself for ages, I used to class it as 3 syns.. So really this curry could be syn free if your sharing between 4. Nice one thank you

Not quite, The Tikka paste is 1 syn but that is not the same thing as Tikka Masala paste

Tikka Curry Paste, 1 level tbsp 1 1 1
Tikka Masala Curry Paste, 1 level tbsp 2 2 2

rubyruby I do not like runny curry either and ready made curry sauces are not as tasty as paste. I use Patak Rogan Josh paste and it is 3.5syns for 28gr which goes a long way. I have some meat, veg and a can of tomatoes in my curry and can have it 2 times so for me each serving works out about 1.5 syns. I have not used the other flavour but when they are on offer again I try different ones. Somebody gave me a tip that 1 = 20 calories so you can use this to workout the syn value for amount of paste you like to use.
