Helllooo, i'm new and i have started cambridge diet over a week ago.. Any supporters or success stories?

Hi there I haven't tried the Cambridge diet, but I do have pcos, and 3 children so I'm an expert on trying to conceive haha ;-) xx

Hi Kiera,

I've just seen your post and thought i should post as I also have PCOS and did the Cambridge diet almost 2 years ago - and 3 months after starting the diet surprise!!!! I WAS PREGNANT! I was soooo over the moon! Because I have the worst form of PCOS, in terms of symptoms...I have them all: insulin resistance, hirsutism, anovulation, no periods etc! I was told it would be close to impossible to get pregnant so I stopped ttc i didn't think about it anymore- however, being overweight was a big issue for me and I came across the Cambridge diet

I followed it as if it was like either all or nothing :) I didn't cheat AT ALL for all the 3 months and the pounds just wentoff! first week I lost 1 stone! and all together close to 3...or maybe more...don't remember exactly...

but the good news is after those 3 months I went for a check up and found out I was pregnant! So there is a light in the end of the tunnel!

My baby boy is now almost 9 months (the joy of my life) and I am now going to try the Go Lower diet as I put the weight back on during pregnancy and looking after my baby etc

I would say if you are ttc and doing the Cambridge just make sure you don't do the diet after getting pregnant
when I found out I was pregnant I stop the diet as the first few months your body will need more than the Cambridge ... folic acid etc!

So hopefully you will have good news to share soon too!

Good luck x

I tried lots of meds and IVF and was eventually told I would never be able to conceive, I did the Lipotrim diet (which I believe is similar to the Cambridge diet) through my local hospital and lost a huge amount of weight and then got a huge surprise when my boobs got bigger and apparently i was glowing! My work friends convinced me to do a pregnancy test which I didn't even look at and simply threw out of the toilet door to my friend to read, I'd only done it to shut them up! Turned out I was pregnant! My son will turn 7 in July, he's been pretty ill sometimes with heart defects but they think that is because of family history rather than my health problems. Oh and my testosterone levels were the highest the hospital had ever seen, I have male pattern balding (though thankfully it goes when I'm properly medicated), hair everywhere including my toes (yuk!) saggy boobs and a rounding back, I literally have all the flipping symptoms which is lousy but the weight loss did the trick for us, best of luck on your journey :)

hey im new on this site, i have pcos and have been trying for #2 for 17 months now, me and my hubby started the Exante diet on monday and in these 4days i have lose 11lbs, cant believe it, i have done the cambridge diet before too and in 2 weeks i lost 2 stone, i had to stop after that because of money, but now we have enough money to do the exante properly i estimate ill be on the diet for about 4-6months, missdietee have you got any tips for ttc ? xx

i just got my reading back from jenny renny and she said 'Your reading reveals that your BFP news comes the month of September from a cycle that begins in August. The baby shows as a girl and her EDD/birth date is referenced the month of May 2013 - specific reference to the 24th and 20th.' oh cant wait, im not really trying atm since last month as i really need to concentrate on getting my weight down first, good luck

Hi I was diagnosed with PCOS about a month ago after TTC for 2 and a half years! Doctor has referred me to gynaecologist and I have an appointment next Thursday. I'm doing Slimming world as I'm about 3 stone overweight and really hoping weight loss with help me get pregnant. Hoping the gynaecologist will prescribe metformin as I'm struggling to loose weight.

They do a number of investigations like dye through your tube and stuff i didnt have it he just put me on clomid and met and it worked i was about 4 st over weight but lost a st of it before i went to the consultant with pcos its hard to loose weight due to our metabolic rate x but slimming world did it for me eat as much super free foods stir frys are great and the speedy soup are good to give your body a kick start x look on here for slimming world meal ideas x good look with the slimming world and seeing your consultant keep me update x x

Hello i have pcos was diagnosed when i was 18 ... do anyone else take metformin for it ?? a small amount of weight loss will help with my fisrt child i lost 2 stone and fell with my second i lost 2 and fell but was also on metformin the second time which is supposed to make you more fertile ??? i take it as it regulates my periods and moods lol

Hey Girls!
I can agree with a few of you when you say you have ALL the symptoms..
I dont have a monthly cycle unless I take the pill & suffer from very black, coarse hair around my face, arms, stomach.. basically everywhere. I find it hard to think I am pretty or look well but luckily I have a super boyfriend that I have been with for 4years & loves me the way I am. I made sure I told him about me so he wouldn't be surprised someday! anyways.. we would like to ttc but as i have been told by my doc that I'll never have kids I'm feeling a little hopeless! lol.
I hope you all do well on your weight loss journeys & get what most people take for granted :)

Nichola.. :)
