Poor woman - sad news

I found this article in our local newspaper. This case is so sad and with proper investigation it might have been avoidable.

This is really sad. She was only 21 stone... In my opinion surgery should not have been an option. I feel for her family.

What are the requirements to have surgery...I remember reading about a welsh woman who died following bariatric surgery....she was only 16 stone. Who on earth OK's operating on someone like that? Shocking, scary and very very sad!

In a mag I bought recently, Pick me up or closer maybe, I read a story about a woman who wanted a gastric band at 12st and the woman she spoke to told her it'd be safer if she gained 3st before she had the op! I've never heard of anything so ridiculous. So she ate and ate and gained the 3st and still had complications anyhow fgs! The band only helped her get off the 3st gained and she's back down to 12st where she started. She wanted to warn others to think carefully before going ahead with wls.
