Posting - A Cautionary Tale

Here for the Journey
Posting – A Cautionary Tale

The words that are written come straight from the heart
But when they are read they are taken in part
Dissected, interpreted to understand
The meaning behind just a grain in the sand.

With many opinions that fall from the page
Helpful suggestions, sarcasm and rage
Sympathy, empathy, just being there
Informed information to show that you care

But caution – DON’T POST if you’re feeling unsure
Or fragile or stressed - it is best to ignore
The question that jumps from the words of a thread
That pulls at your heartstrings once it has been read

The words on the page now scream out for reply
And I sit here not posting and let the words fly
I think my own thoughts – but they stay in my head
I take the safe option and read the next thread

Normally I'd say "Yes" as an answer to that question but you never really know how your answers will be received or if indeed the other person actually wants a reply at all. Then there is the actual meaning of the post and the meaning you have read from what is written. Usually that is OK too but sometimes, if I am feeling stressed or fragile, I find it is best not to give an opinion - that way I don't have anything else to get stressed about if my reply isn't received in the way it was meant. I'm not being negative - just looking after myself x

Thanks for reading and commenting Nomad - much appreciated x

Thank you - it was how I was feeling at the time. You can say the wrong things sometimes when you answer posts and try to help and if you are a little fragile yourself the fall-out can hurt x

Yes it happens occasionally doesn't it x
