I made this for tea tonight using pork which was very nice but.....

I found the sauce itself very sweet. I was just wondering how you actualy make yours, I was also under the impression that it simmered away to nothing? mine did simmer away loads and became realy thick, took bout 25/30 min i think.

I added the coke and the passat to the pan at the same time. Was this correct? or do i simmer the coke down first?

I use mushrooms and onions in mine (add mushrooms at last minute otherwise sauce doesn't thicken) I have it with rice so like a bit more sauce with it. I also add scotch bonnet chilli to spice it up a bit. I love the aniseed taste of the Chinese 5 spice! Yum
