From what I've read she can take fybogel but shouldn't use senakot or anything too strong.

Here's some more info on it - Laxatives during pregnancy

Anything too strong and it could cause miscarriage. If she can possibly check her diet first, try something fiberous and new, it may help. Plenty of fluids too. I used to find a half litre of fresh orange juice would help, either that or a tub of chocolate icecream believe it or not!

its really common!

the best thing for her to do is drink plenty of water and increase her fibre intake with plenty of veg, or snack on some prunes?

if that doesnt work i would go to GP and they can perscribe something suitable to take while pregnant - and of course its free if on perscription! x
