quick question ...

just a quick question people---
Im making the onion sauce out of the sauces book and it says to use VECON....
now can I use marmite or vegetable stock cube?.. Is the same sort of stuff ??

Vecon is a vegetable stock but is the the same texture and likeness to marmite!!

It has always been free and therefore used in recipes where you would perhaps normally use stock but it wasnt free before.

I would use the vegetable stock cube. Marmite is very strong. Just my opinion!!
