Of course, Starsy.
Alizonne was developed by a Dutch GP and is also supervised by specialist Alizonne trained GPs. There are various tests before you start - including blood tests and BMR. They write a plan based on your history and metabolism - so slow losers know from the start that it will take them longer. Blood tests are repeated every 4-6 weeks unless you've an issue that means they need them more often.
There are weekly visits to the clinic for weigh in, ultrasound and endermologie treatments and to buy the next week's food. Alizonne includes 5 high protein sachets a day, with a salad from free list at lunchtime and veggies from free and a 200 grammes list at supper time. Sachets include omlettes and some other foods as well as soups and drinks. So you eat daily and get trained to eat healthier foods. They adapt the diet and the supplements if you have special needs or medical issues.
With the sachets, supplements, treatments, GP reviews and travel to the clinic, it's also a financial commitment - over £200 a week. The GP sees you monthly and after you get to target, there are monthly monitoring visit - so you get helped if you aren't managing to maintain. Weight losses are usually a stone a month for women, more for men. I've lost an average 18lbs per month - and my skin has retracted really well. I'm down more than 10 inches on waist and hips. I'm post menopausal so am pleased with that.
The veggies take the calories up to c800 a day - and mean that you can have some lovely food. I just requested my meal for my daughter in law's wedding - and will get something like this:
Pecks Restaurant | Alizonne
When I've lost 70% of the weight, I'll move onto Phase 2 - with lean meat/fish/scallops etc for the evening meal, and at 90% of weight lost then phase through adding in other food groups. At target, the GP signs you off, with a detailed plan based on your BMR at that new weight.
I chose Alizonne as I had repeatedly failed with other ways of weight loss and my DH was worried about medical probs on vlcds. So when I met two people last autumn, who had 7st and 5st respectively and looked like they had always been slim, I decided to do Alizonne. You can read more about it on Dawn's blog:
Disappearing Dawn
Yes it's expensive - but I haven't been hungry, have had good care (so have a happy husband) and I don't expect to need surgery to remove excess skin when I'm at goal, so for me, it's worth it.
