Requirements for IVF

Does anyone know the requirements of ivf on the nhs?
We have been TTC for nearly 7 years,was given clomid but that failed,lost 8 stone that failed (although now put 6 stone back on...currently on LT again)
Ive not been back to the doc in 2 years as after so much heart ache we couldn't take anymore and decided that if it happens it happens...BUT im getting impatient again and im thinking of going back to the doc to ask for ivf.Hubby to be already has children though...would this affect us getting it on the nhs?

Hi im not too sure about the requirements but a friend of mine is having it on the NHS and her hubby has 2 kids but they are entitled to 3 or 4 tries! oh also i think she said that if your BMI is under 30 u get more tries as she lost a few stone. good luck xx

it really depends on your area, definitely the biggest example of postcode lottery you'll ever find. Have a look on your local primary care trusts website, they may have more info on there or google fertilityfriends, they may have more info and advice. The first step is seeing your GP for the initial referral and they might be able to tell you more. Lots of luck!
