Anyone a culprit of jumping on and off the scales constantly? I am terrible I get on in the morning and the evening. I did contemplate asking OH to hide them this time but then I had a panic attack when I thought about going a week without getting on them. Maybe I should just wean myself off gradually. Do you think it affects your attitude to weight loss?

I think it's demoralising if you've not lost as much as you think you ought to have done Sharon. I resisted all week and on the morning of my 1st weigh in I got on...knowing full well that my scales don't say the same as my CDCs scales and they told me I had lost 6lb. I was so disappointed. When I went for my weigh though, I had actually lost 8lb so I won't be getting on my own scales again - in fact, I'm tempted to bin them altogether!

I go on once a week at Nicky's at my weigh in. I don't own any scales, cos I'd be too tempted to jump on every 5 mins to check on my progress LOL

Hands up here .... I'm a serial scale hopper too.

I know I shouldn't but I just can't help it - and I think if I hid them it would just eat away at me that I couldn't 'check' ... even though they rarely reflect what my CDC's scales say.

It CAN be demoralising if your head isn't in the right place but for me, it isn't so much looking to see how the weight is going DOWN (as I said, I know they don't give the same result as the CDC) but a confirmation that I'm not going UP.

Of course, there's absolutely nor reason why they SHOULD go up - I'm on 790 and stick to it fairly well. Just a quirk of my character I suppose.

I weigh myself every morning - I think I might be getting obsessed!
I try to avoid the temptation but there I am every morning running down the stairs to stand naked in the kitchen on the scales.

On a plus note, I do remember to close the blinds first! :p

Yep every morning and have done all the way through. I think we are all different, some find it good to keep focus and others can find it demotivating. If it gets you down and affects your mood - hide em!

I cant help it, I NEED to weight myself every day. BUT my scales put me 1lb heavier than the chemist scales, so its not too bad. Its great to see the losses each day, you notice stuff, like if you have stayed the same for a few days, you can weight your self one morning and drop 3lbs!!!

Eveyday! Every single day. Without fail. Ever.

Wish i didn't but I know it bothers me even more if I can't, so I do. Sometimes it cheers me and makes me even more positive and sometimes it makes me feel like eating because I haven't lost and I want a big sulk!

I'm stuck with them I think.

I haven't weighed myself once since my re-start. I know it totally demoralises me if I get on once a week and haven't lost anything. That's what made me give up before Christmas. I'd been good all week and didn't lose a lb, so I thought to myself 'what's the point, I might as well eat' - and I did!!!

This time round I'm only getting weighed with my CDC and I've been SS nearly 3 weeks - I still don't know how much I weigh or how much I've lost, but I prefer it. I've told her not to tell me.

If I hopped on the scales every day I would never stick to SS - each to our own I guess

I must say - I think I am too.. Longest I can go is two days !

I don't mind not going down daily - I'm just paranoid they don't go up ... at they always do one week of the month. Then I get in a flap... :-(

At the moment - they're my friend. I'm seeing about a 1/2lb or more loss daily this week

Mine dont seem to have shifted at all this week but I'm not getting too stressed - they only weigh in whole pound increments and so drop 'all of a sudden'.

I love to see my weight loss every morning - some days it stays the same, mostly it goes down, even if just by half a pound, but it has never ever gone up! I don't take the weight as my official weight because I know it changes throughout the day and I get officially weighed in the evening, but it is a great feeling to know the weight is definitely coming off!

OMG  Guilty as charged!! LOl:D

I am so bad like that. Hubby keeps telling me to quit it but I just can't help it...and I'm only in prep week. From what my scales read, I've lost 3lbs since Sat. Will just have see what my CDC's scales read when I next weigh in this Sat!;)

Hi, may name's Rayven and i'm addicted to the scales!!
I find jumping on the scales every morning quite demoralising. (but can't stop doing it!!) You have the odd occasion where you get on and feel great because you're doing well, but for me, if i'm doing well i think 'well if i'm doing this well i can afford to cheat a bit' but if they haven't moved i think 'well i might as well cheat if i'm not losing the weight anyway!' I can't win!!!

I'm planning on getting the OH to stick em in the loft tonight when he gets in from work because i can't get up there!! At least that way i'll only get weighed once a week when i see my CDC.
