Shrinking Sam...**Red, Green & EE**

Sam1988

I ♥ Slimming World
So I'm back on the wagon after 6 months and gaining 7lbs!! :sigh:

I thought it might give me more motivation to start a food diary - I have always kept a log of everything i eat (never been able to 'wing it'!) but i'd love to be able to look back through to see what i had eaten on a good week without shuffling through thousands of bits of paper!

So here goes:

Thursday 5th January 2012

Breakfast
Banana & a cup of tea with some HEA of milk (ok not the biggest breakfast in the world but found it hard to get back into the habit of eating early!)

Lunch
Homemade Leek & Potato Soup
Cucumber Sticks

Afternoon Snack
x1 Alpen Light - 1/2 HEB

Dinner
Red onion & mushroom omelette with 28g cheese (HEA) and beans
Mullerlight

I also planned in a few snacks for the evening to try and ease myself away from the 'christmas grazing'!:
x2 low cal crisps - 8 syns
x1 Alpen light - 1/2 HEB
Hot chocolate - 2

xx

Hi hun. Good luck with your food diary - I really find keeping a diary on here keeps me motivated and up to date. Like you say, it's so much easier than rifling through bits of paper.

So far so good by the looks of things :D

Good luck, have a great week xx

Thanks Stevie! :)
Lovely to have support on here already! I hope you have a great week to!! xxx
(Off Sam goes to have a little snoop at Princess_Stevie's new diary...) :)

So yesterday was a 100% day! :D
It feels so nice to be back in control and know that sticking to plan WILL give me a loss at the end of the week!
My 1st goal is to get my 7lb gain back off again by the end January. That gives me 3 weigh-in's so is definitely do-able!!
My only other goal is to exercise, I did a bit the first time round but not as much as i should have! This time it really counts because i don't want to hit target with lots of wobbly bits!

I will update my food diary as i eat.... :)

A good 2nd day so far! Although i had a strange feeling in my stomach this afternoon but i wasn't sure if it was hunger or changing back to eating loads of fruit/veg!!
I seem to have a real problem with hunger - i know if i'm full and i know when i'm really empty but i cant seem to get a happy medium and eat when i should. I'm hoping this will change because i know how bad it is to let your body think its starving! :sigh:
Anyway on with today's food:

Friday 6th Janary 2012

Breakfast
35g porridge oats (cooked with water) x1 HEB with chopped banana - never tried this before but it was sooo nice i think it will be a breakfast staple!

Lunch
Homemade leek & potato soup - still trying to get through my batch!!
Crisps - 4.5 syns

Dinner
Batchelors wholegrain pasta n sauce (Garlic & Herb) - 1 syn
x1 laughing cow light triangle - 1.5 syns
Onion, sweetcorn & 113g tuna HEB
x1 can diet coke

I still have a few syns to use up, need to have my 5th 5-a-day and possibly another HEA (i use one A everyday for my milk in tea - my only healthy extra that NEVER changes!:D) but i'm sure i'll manage to fit them in ;)

Breakfast
Nothing :sigh:

Lunch
Leftover pasta from Sunday's dinner - tasted even better after a night in the fridge!
Grapes

Dinner
x2 Wholemeal Rolls - x2HEB
x2 Q chicken burgers - 5 syns
x2 Laughing cow light triangle & x2 tbsp salad cream

Had a bit of shock news yesterday so it wasn't the best food optimising day to say the least! I didn't go off track but as you can see i didnt eat anywhere near enough! I planned to have just 1 Quorn chicken burger served with SW chips and beans for dinner but it was such a stressful day by the time i got in i just wanted to eat anything and go to bed - so i'm looking on the positive that i didnt buy a mcdonalds!!! I also only had 1 of my 5-a-day so going to try and have lots of them today!!
I will update as i go :p

Ok so my diary has sort of been abandoned the last couple of days! As i said before, had a bit of a shock this week which i wont go into but still been pretty good SW wise! Well i must have been as i lost 4lbs at weigh in this morning! :D:D:D

Tuesday's food consisted of 35g of porridge & a banana for breakfast, and then i didnt eat again until the evening - me & a friend went to the pub for a chat, which could have been an SW nightmare! I'm proud to say it wasn't, dinner was steak, chips, peas, grilled tomatoes & mushrooms! I did have peppercorn sauce but i thought that would be ok seeming i only had to syn the chips!!

I did end up having a malibu and diet lemonade (4 syns) which broke my 'no drinking in January' rule but to be honest i could have quite easily drunk the bar dry so looking at it as a victory! :p

I will be back to writing my food diary soon, off to my first ever SW class this evening as i need to get hold of the updated books - knowing i'm missing out on extra cheese is upsetting me!! ;)

Are the updated books worth it? I don't go to meetings either but since I now know there is a class across the road from me I am thinking of going just to get the updated books. x

Hi Sam - well done on your loss honey and sorry about the bad news you've had this week. Hope everything's o.k. Are you going to just get the books and carry on doing SW at home or start going to group? I would love to go to group but can't commit that amount of money at the moment - sounds crazy I know but until I'm back in work an extra £20 a month is more than we can afford to budget for. Has the cheese allowance gone up?:D xx

Soooo nearly a year later and i am back! I started sw again a few weeks ago at 14st 10lb (thats an extra 1st 5lb from the lowest weight i got to the first time round!!) but ive managed to get down to 14st (on the scales yesterday morn) although i officially weigh in tomorrow!

The reason its taken me so long to get back on track is because i am finally happy!! Its sounds a bit silly (although im still not happy with my weight!) but life is good! Having a bad time helped me fall off the wagon in january but since then i
have started a new job with more money and less hours (same amount of stress but less hours makes that sooo much easier to cope with!) and also my best friend of 6 years is now my bf (since march) and i finally feel at peace! Sounds so cheesy but i cant think of another way to put it :)

So here i am hoping to be below 13st 5lb for the first time ever (on the way down anyway!!) by the time i weigh in on christmas eve. Ive accepted i may well be slightly over again when i weigh in after christmas but it will be worth it as i plan to have what i like on xmas day! Its keeping me going knowing if i crave something i might not be able to have it now, but as long as i stick to plan until then, i am allowed it!

I will be posting my food diary again (along with pictures) and ive been brave this weekend and finally had an ee day yesterday and a red day today - so not just green days any more! Will be back to update food diary shortly xxx

First bit of new food porn!! :p

Saturday was my first EE day and i loved it! The last few weeks back on Green left me feeling bored with the plan so i decided i need to spice things up! I've managed to lose my food diary for Saturday but lunch was Prawn Cocktail: prawns, baby tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce and x4 tbsp of Kraft Fat Free Thousand Island Dressing - 2 syns. I also used my HEB for a Weight Watchers Petite Pain to eat with it - It was gorgeous! Felt like a really naughty meal as its one of my favourites :)
Prawn Cocktail.jpg

My dinner was also just as good! I had cold cooked chicken, couscous and houmous (synned) served with a big salad of baby tomatoes, cucumber, lettuce, red onion and spring onion. I didn't take a picture because my camera skills really aren't very great and it didn't look very appetising once it was on the plate! It tasted lovely though and i will definitely be having it again!
