Slimfast Help Needed :)

    Hi Slimfasters!

    I'm new to this section of the site so let me start by giving you a bit of background info about myself.

    I started Cambridge Diet in Autumn 2008 and did pretty well but had to stop after 3 weeks because the date for my tummy tuck came through and upon medical advice decided not to be in calorie deficit in the several weeks running up to my op in order to enable an easier recovery process.

    I gained a couple of those lost pounds but I was also weight training before my op so wasn't to worried about that as I was eating healthily. After the op I gained another couple of pounds due to being incapacitated for a few weeks and then there was Christmas.

    I would like to go back on CD as I prefer the taste to Slimfast but can't afford it at the moment.

    So what I was wondering is has anyone else done Slimfast on half the recommended measures to mix the shakes? I find them way too sweet compared to CD and CD is also half the calorie content.

    I am not trying to go into ketosis as I was not doing the VLCD plan on CD. I was just replacing breakfast and lunch as on Slimfast.

    Any advice anyone?

    Hay and welcome to the SF section, im not sure but i think there is a post on here that someone does say in it that they dont use two scoops but 1. I will try and find it to show you. Hope im understanding your question properly ?

    I have had a look and i cant see the post, sorry.

    I can only say that maybe if u drop from 2 scoops to 1 it might not fill you up for as long but you could always try it and see how you go.

    Thanks Sass. I've just finished my last sachet of CD choc shake today and going to start the Slimfast tomorrow.

    I'm used to 2 CD shakes a day and then dinner and an evening snack and the CD shakes have half the calories of Slimfast so I'm hoping 1 scoop of Slimfast in the same amount of skimmed milk will keep me full enough. Might be weird with a thinner consistency but worth a shot.

    The thing is, I find it hard to cope without an evening after-dinner snack when settling down to watch the telly and the CD shakes being half the kcal content of the Slimfast allows me to do this whereas Slimfast uses up too much of my daily cals.

    I think I get less hungry during the day when I have my hands full. I need to stop asscoiating sitting down in front of the telly at night with hunger to be honest and then I can forget meal replacements altogether by just dropping those cals I consume every night after dinner.

    I know just where your coming from on this one and i think alot of other are also in the same boat. I save a snack for the evening too, and im sure if its not to high in cals then we are doing ok.

    Would be good to know how you get on with ur one scoop so do let me know

    hi poppy, if I make my shake as a hot choc I only have one scoop. I find it's filling enough but normally have it around 730pm so it's quite late.

    Thanks ugg! However - I had my first single-scoop-shake this morning and it's just as horrible for me as it is with 2 scoops. Thought it might be better as I'd found 2 scoops too sweet.

    I've had skinless chicken breast sandwich for lunch without any spread as I just can't stomach the slimfast.

    Looks like I'm just gonna have to suffice a few other things and get back onto the Cambridge. Oh well!
