Re the linseeds

I honestly don't think they are any good for a VLCD if they contain 150 cals per serving. Having them would be like adding an extra food pack but without getting all the vits and mins from one. I think it is far better to take a remedy recommended by LL, CD or LT such as Senna, Dulcolax, Movicol etc etc.
 
Yes Nige! SOME! but they can't be a complete balanced meal like a foodpack. And well when you are only on about 500 cals a day 150 cals in one serving of something that isn't going to be a nutritionally complete meal is kind of a waste. Especially when they aren't essential as you can take OTC meds with negligible cals in to sort it out.

However I think they would be great if you weren't on a VLCD.
 
I've just measured out an ounce of linseeds and it's loads! 3-4 teaspoons at least! I only use I teaspoon a day, don't chew them and they work well. If you don't chew them they don't release all the oils etc and so have less calories per dose. Somewhere I have info on that.
