Hello everyone...

About a year ago my girlfriend, her mum and myself all joined our local slimming world group. My girlfriend has done well, but started gaining slightly recently. Her mum sits at home and eats cakes and bread all day long, but never seems to gain any weight. And myself...

I never really took to it in all honestly, I never really wanted to be on the diet and it wasn't my decision to join the group, so after an initial good start my weight has yo yo'd the whole time.

Over the weekend I'd bee feeling low and lethargic, and not quite right. So I decided to joined MiniMins in hope that it would give me the extra support that I need.

I re-joined slimming world last night weighing in at a ridiculous 27st12lbs.

I've bought the MyNetDiary app for my iPad which allows me to enter everything I have eaten into a food diary and gives me the nutritional values of everything. It's pretty awesome.

And... I'm determined from this point forward!

Im not going to set numbers as goals (other than my overall target weight), but rather targets of things I would like to do. My initial goals are:

* Have a holiday in October and feel more comfortable on the flight, in the heat of wherever I end up, and the confidence to go swimming. :)

* My girlfriends sister is getting married next July. I want to be able to go into a high street shop like Next or Burton and buy a nice suit to wear. :)

* The weight I have in mind that I want to get to and will be happy with is 16st7lbs (this'll go down!), which leaves me with 11st5lbs to lose.

So with all that said.... be prepared to be bored to death as I write my updates here! :D

Welcome to minimins, you'll get as much help and support on here as you want and need.

The first bit of advice I'd give you would be to just take it half a stone at a time rather than you want to lose a certain amount of weight. Personally if I'd have said at the start of sw I need to lose 5 stones I'd have given up by now thinking I've set myself a mountain to climb. Nearly 2 stones down and I'm loving this diet. I don't even find it a diet, just a new way of life, it is so easy, it honestly is.

For the first time of doing any diet I know I will get to where I want to be with sw. You WILL do the same.

I like the idea of taking it half a stone at a time, but Im afraid if I do that I may get too lazy with keeping on the plan.

Last time I went with the attitude that I lose what I lose... it's still a weight loss, but I didnt motivate myself for keeping up with that. We'll see anyway, theres time to learn more and change the goals and how they are met along the way. It's going to be a long road afterall. :)

Onto today... my food plan for today is:


* Serving of Bran Flakes with skimmed milk.


* Late morning Hi-fi bar (love the mint ones! :D)


??? - need to figure this out! Ive not brought lunch me to work, and I work in Westfield shopping centre in Shepherds Bush London, so it can be tricky to find something cheap good and nice.

Afternoon snack

* 2 small apples


* Mixed salad leaves, peppers, pasta and a low syn/syn free tomato sauce.

Choosing a plan is difficult... I prefer red days as I'm very much a meat eater! lol. But my girlfriend prefers green days... so will probably change from day to day. Today I think i'll stick to green.

First testing moment, my colleague just brought two big boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts for the team and left them right in front of me! :( Cursed him for bringing them the day after I start dieting! :p
