SUMMER CHALLENGE 2012 :)

Morning gang!!

Gleave a massive CONGRATULATIONS!! That's fab news, I'm so happy for you!

Well done to everyone on their losses and STS over the last week. I have once again been AWOL - had an absolutely horrendous week, had a family bereavement and a relationship meltdown, but I think today is the day I draw a line under it all and cheer the hell up!! I have been mostly good but I did give in to some chocolate on Sunday.

WI this morning and I've lost 1 pound, not sure how I've done that but I'm happy with that :)

Good luck to anyone else weighing in today. Twinny, Ang, Jo, Eabha, hope you are all doing well lovelys! Welcome to any newbies and hello to anyone I've missed.

Have a fab day, make sure you don't over-do the pancakes!! xx

Morning guyyyys!
Hope we are feeling great!

Ohhhh im sooooo happy for you Gleave! Woooo hoooo, what a blessing and i'm so pleased for you.

Well done on all the losses as well, Sophie, Clare and sts for you too Karen.

@Jo you have done sooo brilliantly so far and i agree its better to stay focus on maintaining as you said. Everyone always says the last load is always the hardest to loose.
Have you ever considered being a ww leader, you have lost soo much weight, your journey will be a inspiration to others. I know for myself personally when I've joined up for meetings before, it makes a difference when leaders can really relate to the struggles of losing weight and are living proof that weight loss is achievable, especially as i have always battled with my weight. I find it a great motivator!
I think you will do a fab job!

@Niamhs, i would completely dust of any negative comments/discussions. Sometimes you'll find our friends and love ones dont actually realise how negative they are being and its sooo annoying when they want to push and push and dont take the hint. Just continue doing you as thats all that matters.x

Well its weigh in day for me tomorrow :wave_cry:,tbh i wouldnt be surprise if i have put on this week. I just dont seem to have the mojo any more. Im not over eating and I'm eating the 'good foods' soo to speak, but i haven't been tracking, its sooo stupid as i know im doing it but cant seem to pull my finger out.:break_diet:
I know a major factor is that im constantly in pain, recovering from my recent op and I'm always soo tired, however i did have the motivation to track and point up until the last few weeks.

Has anyone tried Hovis Nimble wholemeal bread recently, its quite nice! 2 slices is 1.5pts which is good, i haven't been too fussed about ww bread as i find its soo thin and has no substance to it!

I will be having pancakes tonight but i will be replacing the semi skimmed with shimmed milk! Made with plain flour with lemon and splenda sugar yumm. Not sure how to point them thou, any suggestings....

weigh in not so good, well I stayed the same which I know isnt bad but I was expecting a loss. Only thing I can think of is I lost 3lbs last week which is alot .. my trousers do feel looser so maybe Im toning ? I can
feel it in my work trousers....

Pancake Tuesday today yummmm think Im gonna treat myself tonight, BF said he would make me some 2nite ... they were all having them in my house last night grrr I resisted, had a taste of
BF's and really really wanted a big thick 1 but resisted - good thing I did or may have had a gain this morning !! Had dreams
last night I was back into the 11s lol How wierd dreaming about weigh in hahaha !

UptheDuff - thanks for the advise, will keep replies on weight loss short and sweet, it just annoyed me abit, I text her and reassured
her I wasnt starving myself lol and I just want to be healthy and keep the weight off which is harder than losing weight sometimes !!

Gleave - yep 10points in the whole tub of philly choc - thing is I would easily get through a tub of it myself lol I find the stuff addictive .. maybe
after pancakes 2nite I might have to ration myself to a bit every day lol

Clare - hope you are ok - diets are hard especially when life gets in the way - draw a line when you feel ready and get back to it, we are
all here to support you xx

Marli - I havent tried the Hovis Nimble bread, must keep an eye out for it, seems very good for points. I too hate the WW bread, its like
cardboard, sooo thin and not filling at all, I normally just have 'normal' bread which is 1.5 points a slice, but worth it I find! Will try the Nimble though, it sounds nice x Best of luck for weigh in tomorrow, just be as good as you can today, and start afresh tomorrow after weigh in - we cant be angels
every week xxxx

I have lost 2lb again this week :D The news I am going to be a Nanna again has topped that though!!! (gleeve is my baby, lol) although I am told being a grandparent to be doesn't give me an excuse to eat for 2 as well

Hello my lovelies

how is everyone doing?

Gleave - congratulations hun, it must be an incredible feeling especially when you weren't expecting it. Am really really pleased for you lovey :)

Congratulations to Karen and Niamhs for your STS. And a huge woop woop to Gleave, sophie, twinny and Jay for your losses.

Bit by bit we're all geting there - just imagine ladies how much slimmer we will look and how we will feel by SUmmer :)

Sorry my posting has been so infrequent lately. I just dont seem to have stopped lately - had a stupidly busy day again today with no lunch break!.

Sophie - draw a line under your blow out hun and start fresh :).

Niamhs - sometimes I wonder whether our friends that nag are actually feeling jealous, because we're doing so well and being so determined, and guilty because she's just sat there and ate a biscuit :). Glad you've pulled things back on track though

Twinny - lovely - sending you huge hugs. I knew about the bereavement as you said in your text, but relationship break down too - lovely i'm here if you need to chat

hello to everyone else :)

afm - sticking to my points well at the mo, although am off to pick hubby up from cookery course in 10 mins - it was making Jamacian crunch pie tonight so I MUST BE STRONG, I MUST BE STRONG .......... tomorrow morning am off bright and early for our first IVF scan, all being well i'll start on another lot of drugs then. Going to Ikea for a shopping trip too - I love it there :)

Well my lovely peeps, will try to catch up with you all tomorrow night.

Have a good Wednesday - lots of love and hugs xxx

I have been looking for something to help me to reach my goal and then maintain my weight and keep it off forever. I have now lost 125lbs but still feel I haven't completely come to terms with this being a life changeing thing.

Morning Jo,
I understand totally where your coming from. You actually crossed my mind yesterday evening when i was reflecting on my years of dieting and how many times i have attempted the ww plan, had a great loss on my first attempt and drop 3 dress sizes and then piled alot on and yo yo dieted constantly, rejoined ww several times at different meetings and have never really had a success since.
Then i thought of you and wondered how you managed to commit and stay motivated to loosing 125lbs and began telling myself i can do.
However to be honest another side of me tells me i cant loose with ww as I've done it soooo many times and im fedup of pointing and my weight is because of my mindest on food. But then again i have lost the most weight with ww and feel its good for me.
Anyways i purchased a book similar to the one your talking about summer last year 'You CAN be thin' By Marisa Peer, which also comes with a dvd.
My neighbour recommended the book to me and i literally saw her shrink 4stone slimmer. Her mindset completely changed and she described the effects of the book as hypnotizing her not to overeat and so on.
I started reading the book and yes it was very powerful and really made me look at myself with disgust, at the time was due to go in for surgery so i didn't continue with the book and never finished it.
However I have restarted the book recently and hoping it equip me to commit to loose weight.

So good luck hun! Loads of people have been successful with his book, so I'm sure you will be and there's no harm in trying!

Morning All.

Last night i had a pig out on pancakes for the second time in the day! I also met my friend for lunch too and hey messed up.
Weighed this morning and i have GAINED 3lbs!:mad:

Im sooo disappointed with myself, tbh i knew i was going to gain but not 3lb's maybe 1lb. However what can i do....nothing!
Im really pissed off and just want to loose weight but i havent committed all week. I fed up with battling with my weight and really just want it gone! So why have i messed up.....???

Anyways...Ive reflected on my week and know the cause of my gain, drinking ribeana dilute squash instead my usual sugar free everyday and full fat fizzy drinks with with brandy instead of diet! No pointing or tracking, no exercising. Being in alot of bloody pain, not being bothered and the half term.

Part of me is pleased ive come on to tell you all as usually i would of giving up and that would be the end of ww and me lol.
But im going to keep going! Ive done a zumba cardio workout already and will be tracking all week. As well as aiming to finish 'You CAN be THIN' by Marisa Peer.

So wish me luck folks!

Morning everyone, WI today, lost 4.5lb! So happy thats 17.5lb since i started back in January and it certainly makes up for my gain last week. I have still a good bit to go but i know i am on my way, i can a feel a massive difference in my clothes aswell.
Hope everyone is good.
xx

Well Done Girl!!! Be proud of your self! xx

I weighed in yesterday morning and STS for the second week in a row :banghead: Becca you can put my 2nd phrase down for an overall 0.5lb gain

It's the start of lent today and last year I gave up fizzy drinks but at the end of it, it had made no difference to my waist line so this year I have decided to make the big step of giving up chocolate. Now this is a massive step for me because I have a small bit of chocolate every day but I think it's hampering my weigh loss so I'm going to give it a go. I'll still allow myself an options hot choclate in the evening but that's it. I honestly don't know how I'm going to do this but sure I'll give it a go.

Clare well done on your loss. It's great when you don't expect a loss but get one. Hope you're feeling better now :hug99:

Marli draw a line under it now. Start your new week, stick to the points and exercise whenever possible and you could see most of that 3lbs gone by next week.
I always get the hovis nimble bread. I find it similar to the WW bread but it's much easier to toast than the WW one. Niamh in Ireland you can only get it in Lidl.

Well done Chazz and Jay on your losses and congrats Jay on becoming a nana again :woohoo: Chazz is there anything you did specifically this week to get such a great loss? It's been ages since I've had more than a 2lb loss!

Jo well done on you loss. I hope the new plan works for you and you shift that last stone. You've done so well keep it up. I want to lose the bulk of another stone and then I'm going to start thinking about weening myself of WW and back to normality e.g. eating the same meals as my family but smaller portions.

hi everyone , god the weight is flying off all of ye......chazz u doing really well! and jo im looking up that mc keenqa 90 day plan u going on .....if your at it , it must be worth looking into...
well , im still at it ..im on and off the wagon...but some how..i managed to lose 2lbs ..so happy with that[hope me scales arent broken].
so it the start of lent and i have got to get back on track ........so i think ill start stalking this group for a while.
up the duff.......poor devil its bloody soul destroying when its not shifting ...but look at it this way....it will because you have officially waged war on those extra pounds......and sts is way better than a gain......anyway ....im with ya honey....tra for now

Thanks everyone! I am so happy!

I have changed shifts so i finish at 7 every night and i dont like to eat a big meal at that time so i have been swapping my lunch and tea around. I dont no if having my main meal at 2 then a sandwich at night is helping.
This mckenna thing sounds good, remember and keep us updated.

xx

Jo - I too (once at goal) dont want to be counting points forever .. my plan is to eat 3 healthy meals a day + snack on fruit .. leave
the junk food til treats at the weekend - not 100% sure it will work lol but really dont wanna be counting points forever !! Any one here on
maintenace at the moment ?? Or have been at goal before ?

Marli - draw a line underneath your gain .. a few days back on track and I guarantee u will have a big chunk of the gain gone - easy on means
easy off !

UpTheDuff - well done on giving up choc - I also gave up diet drinks as Im hooked on diet coke lol it didnt help weight loss with me - I actully find
a can of diet drink can help ward off hunger, if its a while til dinner or whatever .. choc on the other hand eek that will be tough but go for it girl!
Also thanks for the Hovis - I go to Lidl all the time so will keep an eye out for it .. 2 slices for 1.5 points right ?? Defo gonna pick it up .. might go
2nite lol eager beaver here as I love bread lol

Quick update on me ... had pancake yesterday (just the one go me!) with philly choc - omg it was fab ! Im back on track today and doing well, really really want a loss this week ... breakfast was fruit salad and tea.. lunch was a bagel with cheese , onion and tomato, snack has been a large apple
and dinner is breaded chicken , stir fry, sweet and sour sauce and a side salad - how healthy am I ! Just gotta cut out the evening snacks!!

Was meant to stay in boyfriends tonight ... which would have meant distraction and no snacking (find it harder sitting at home on my own lol)
but he has went out (dont mind at all as Im gonna hit the gym for half an hour) but will have to get an early night lol to stay away from the buscuit tin!

Will update tomorrow xx

Niamh xx

Hello everyone,

Well done Jo, Chazz & 4ever on your losses.

Jo & Marli on your books & new systems. Fingers crossed it helps you both in a change for life! I understand that pointing after weight loss isn't ideal, and why we put it back on so often, so it'll be really great to here if these methods are successful for you both!

Eabha, hugs, it will shift! Just keep at it! Are you nearing the stage when you're going to drop a point soon? Maybe that could be what's causing you to kind of maintain rather than lose? Have you thought about the kick start? Not sure what else to suggest, I think we all end up plateauing a bit towards the end which can be soul destroying, I know, but fingers crossed you'll be able to power through. Good Luck giving up the chocolate! That's a tough one! But keeping the options is good, so it should help you stay on track!

Niamhs, get you having one pancake! I could never stop at one! (I didn't make them as I would eat at least 5 over the night and didn't have the points!) Going to have our pancakes on Monday night before Adam goes to work that night - that way he can't try and get me to make them all night for him and I wont be tempted to eat too many! Def going to get that Philly light... Shopping tomorrow so will be on the prowl for that.

Becca, hope your IVF scan went OK for you and the drugs don't cause too much trouble! Fingers crossed everything goes really well and it's a smooth process, giving you a wonderful bundle of joy at the end!

We had a meeting at school today and looks like Cayden will have to move to the specialised school for Children with Autism. Which was a little upsetting, as it's not what we wanted, he is happy where he is but they simply can't provide him with everything he needs - not next year anyway, so one of those. Anyway, that's really thrown me off course this afternoon/tonight. I've munched on chocs like crazy - which I've managed to avoid doing so far - and haven't had a proper meal which REALLY isn't good for me anyway! So, I'm going to go and make myself something low and with loads of vegetables now I'm feeling hungry and eat that. Then I'll get a bit of nutrition in me... which is more important than going over tbh! Then tomorrow, going to try and eat 3 square meals. Really feeling rough, which isn't helping either, but good food has got to help with that, surely!?!

Hi All,
Have had such a busy few days - sorry I haven't been on to speak with all you lovely people.
My Valentine's roses and cards etc were off a friend who wants more than friendship...Bless! Nice guy, just not for me.
I've had the worst week diet wise :( I dont know if I will of reached my February goal by tomorrow (2lbs more to lose) but I can WI on Wednesday as well to see seeing as its the last day of the month.
Hope everyone is well. Well done on all the losses and STS.
Out for food with work tomorrow, I've chosen the veggie option...But tomorrow won't be a tracking day...Then its on it with a vengeance from Saturday!
Good luck :D xx

A late reply from me, just before I nod off. Today has been a better day for me but I have failed to track, so I can't be sure it was a good day. Back on it tomorrow, hopefully the tiredness is wearing off a little - I am still awake now, which is because I am struggling to get comfy thanks to Cayden being in bed with me and hogging it! But lately I would have collapsed anyway! So fingers crossed I am gettin a bit of life back into me and will be able to function better. x

Hello lovely ladies
