Susie's 2022 campaign

Morning all

A SWI has showed a mahoosive 5lb gain :classic_eek: so it's austerity time foodwise until WI on Monday night!

I've got loads of glucomannan type pills which fill you up so it'll be a bit of fasting, with green smoothies for veg (no fruit) and skinny noodles - and lots and lots of water!

I know where it's come from, bad stuff from work sneaking in, but got nothing bad at home so it's Focus Time!

Enjoy the weather x

Focus, focus, focus.

Probably saying that as much for me as for you. But you are very good at tackling it head on and Im sure you will get it sorted by Monday evening.

Let's hope so. I'm not in the least hungry at the moment but my brain is still saying "Eat, eat, eat" - traitor! :classic_roll_eyes:.

Had a litre of water already, and nearly finished a pot of green tea, so exercise today will be trips back and forth to the loo :D.

Just spoken to a potential housesitter for August and agreed the sit, so that's that sorted. Also booked a couple of days in July for my birthday but that'll be a staycation. Also interesting developments on the work front, a couple of the independent regional centres are thinking about hiring me as their PR support, so we'll see if that comes off. If it does it'll mean a move up to Nottinghamshire or thereabouts - another adventure, as I've never lived outside London before :).

Interesting about the job. Would it not be possible to do it freelance for all the independents from home?

Ah yes, good point, I hadn't actually considered WFH but that could well work and doing the occasional visit - and if I'm being really honest, I don't know if I'm up for a big move within a year of getting back. Well we shall see, the lead guy is speaking to people about the money early next week - so cross fingers.

Just had lunch - skinny noodles, a tin of toms, tender stem broccoli, sugar snap peas, cabbage and spinach, all steamed - and boy is it yummy - and filling! The whole thing's no more than 200 cals and I've had about a quarter of it, so that's there to chew on during the day. I can't not eat, fasting is so not my thing! Happily I've got enough fresh stuff left to make the same tomorrow :).

I really love the canned toms, they are a brand called Gambardella and they are so tasty - but I just googled them and they're imported by a specialist Italian shop in West London and cost £3.49 a can! I got about 20 cans from work, of course :).

Just because I feel you need to know, I've just finished my 2nd litre of water and made my 11th visit to the loo today. Broccoli acts like a super powerful laxative on me (again, because you needed to know LOL) so many more trips anticipated! :).

Sounds like a good lunch, I prefer the skinny noodles Asian style so the tin of tomatoes in it wouldn't be for me...but a healthy and substantial lunch.

I've just had a lush dinner - cauli rice, onion, carrot, peppers, mushrooms and cabbage stirred about in Frylight, and my goodness it was nice. I didn't have any soya sauce but in hindsight am really pleased because the plain flavours of the veg were lovely. A huge serving but all so light in cals, and I was so full I left some - so that's there to snack on later if i want to.

Onto litre 5 of water now (counting a pot of green tea and two cuppas earlier), just taken all 12 vits (I know, but they do work :)) and am as full as anything.

Really pleased with today, I think maybe this sort of 5:2 style of thing might work out well for me going forward. When I'm at home on the weekends I eat all sorts of stuff and even if it's good SW-wise, I probably eat too much of it! But if it's all veg and low cal then that should be OK?

Oh Susie, feeling very well ‘briefed’ On how you’re doing! 😂😂🤭

Sounds like you’re very much back on track so I’m sure things will go well for your weigh in tomorrow.

Where do you get your skinny noodles from? I love NOodles but never find them very diet friendly. Do the skinny noodles taste as good as real ones?

I’m a chopped tomato fan too. Very versatile :)

Afternoon all! Only just up here, I had a huge sleep in, from 9am-12, after waking about 6 times in the night thanks to loo visits, RLS and some weird kick ass dreams!

So I'm on catch up re water drinking now - but I really think it's helping, a very naughty and "yes I know I shouldn't but I did" SWI shows a big loss overnight. So much so that I'm going to try and keep this level of water and green tea consumption going all week - just one week - and see what a difference it makes (if any) to the official scales. I've got a teapot I don't like much so that's going to work, so every morning I can make up a pot of green tea, leave it to rest while I have my breakfast and then pour it into a big flask to take upstairs - because going up and down the stairs gets pretty sore on the knees. Mind you, with all that liquid I'll be up and down stairs anyway to the loo :D :D.

And hello Claire Bear, we cross posted :). I get the Eat Slim skinny noodles/pasta from Groupon - they often have 20 packs for £20. TBH they aren't anything like real noodles and pasta, they are rubbery and flavourless, but they bulk the meal up and swell up inside my tum so i feel fuller for longer - always a bonus!

Not feeling very hungry right now so will save making the cauli rice stir fry thing until later. Really warm here today so doing the last bit of laundry and staying indoors out of the heat!

Just had a bowl of magic veg - today it was cauli rice (fab bags from Iceland, 4 for £1 and no mess!), peppers, onion x2, carrots, mushrooms and broccoli - and again I really enjoyed it. One bowl was enough, so the other half is dinner.

Also doing well on the water/green tea front - 3 pots of tea (about 2 litres of water) and on my 2nd litre of straight water.

I'm also going to spend some time later actually doing a proper meal planner for the week, to keep me more on target. I really like the look of these - http://pinchofnom.com/recipes/syn-free-vegetable-tarts-slimming-world/ - and I've been threatening to make the sossie rolls for a while, so might try those this week. Otherwise, because it's going to be so hot this week, it'll be chicken and salads for lunches.

You are doing brilliantly with your fluid intake!! It's one thing I really struggle with as I do enjoy my many cups of coffee! I think your official weigh in tomorrow is going to be a positive one :)

Those vegetable tarts look lush, I've been meaning to make those but never got round to it.
You're doing fantastic on the green tea front, great if it contributes to a really good loss at WI X

You’ve reminded me how important fluid intake is - I’m crap at remembering to drink, but I feel so much better fornit when I do plusnit definitely helps in the scales.

Good luck for tomorrow ! Xx

Thanks CB :).

Someone here (sorry, forgotten who) asked if I snacked and it made me realise I need to put menus up AFTER I eat and not beforehand.

I especially want to keep a close eye on syns from now on (which I've reduced from 25 to 15) and make sure stuff doesn't sneak in!

So today -

B - veg stir fry
L - same
D - 2 slices Nimble (HEB) with 2 eggs done in F/L and light mayo (1)
S - apple x 2, rice cakes x 2 (4), Hifis x 2 (6)

Speed today - broccoli, spinach, peppers, apples, onion, carrots
Water - 5 litres - although TBH I've had enough now!
Total syns - 11

And repeat...:classic_roll_eyes:.

Have a good evening all x

Doing great Suzie, I would feel so flooded if I had that many liquids. A meal planner is a good idea, I keep threatening to do one too but always end up having leftovers from one meal to be the start of the next.

Tippy I got to the point last night where I just could not face another drop of liquid! :D

Morning all - a lovely day here, and a SWI showed a good result for all the pain haha. I know we put weight on during the day but I'll get a few more thousand gallons of water down me and hope it continues a downward trend, and the scales show a loss tonight!

What does the I stand for in SWI? I can't work it out🤔 Is it Slimming World --- or thinking about it is it --- Weigh In 🤔 you've been spot on with your food and cutting your syns right back will have made a difference, so bet you're telling us you've had a whooshie...weight wise not wee wise😹 I don't know how you've managed to drink so much, I'm now struggling after 5 bottles..I feel like I'm swooshing inside😸X
