Ok guys, just been informed by the fabulous why_d that if using smash as a flour replacement ie pizza base you have to syn it? Any idea how many syns?

You have been imformed by who? It's not a flour substute! It's made up as 'smash' just cooked in a different way. It's not used as a 'snack' unless you are totally pigging out on loads of smash pizza everyday there is no issue. It's about using your common sense! I was actually given this recipe by a consultant!

Just wondering, does anyone else have trouble picking up the smash and trying to 'roll' it out? any tips for that? :D

Don't roll it add the water til it's a lump of smash... Plonk on the middle of the baking tray and flatten by pressing down with fingers :)

Hope that helps :)

Lay out some clingfilm, place the instant mash on it, cover with a second piece, roll out as thin as you want. Chill it in a fridge to stiffen it,Remove the top layer of clingfilm and flip into the pan/pizza stone & cook!

i was also told by a concultant that if you use anything asa a flour sub its not free - ie if you make a cous cous cake then its synned. for the same reason lasagne crisps are no longer free! boooooo

Again the point is usually your common sense... Crisps - snack and pizza - meal!
Mmm

Think of the smash pizza all it is is potatoes, veg, some cheese (free if used as hex) and some meat all cooked together! Same as having a stew etc, though probably with more potato than normal. Hence free for a meal!

I had some of this with salad and .......it was okay in a desperate kind of way! But don't think I'll be making that again! I I had scape toppings off and leave base in the end! Used 30g chees (HEXB) chicken, spring onion and mushroom!
Ate about half! Maybe the base was too thick? I did it as thin as I could without the base crumbling!

Anyway....I love to experiment! May give the diet coke chicken a go later!
