Does anyone know if you can you sweet potatoes as a hex-b on a red day or do you have to syn them. Thxs.

They're free so no need to use your HE allowance. .The same for BNS & other gourds - another good substitute for spuds.

Are you sure? In my book - which is a tad old has

sweet potato (HH) as a free food on a green day , but is not a super free food. Gourds such as BNS & pumpkin are free on either plan and are therefore super free .

I don't think sweet potatoes are classified as a gourd as these are cucumbers , squashes and melons.
