Plain Instant mash is syn free when made up with just water. I add a chicken mug shot to mine, tastes delish!

Use good quality potatoes like Maria piper or roosters. Add salt and pepper when mashing and use some milk from hexa when mashing.... Goes lovely and creamy. Or use laughing cow or Kerry low low spread. Mmmm want some mash now

Add fat free yoghurt instead, it gives it a lovely taste.

Quark is quiet nice in mash potatoes gives a slightly cheesy taste but makes them creamy.

I use a little milk, and I use an electric whisk, that glues really smooth & creamy

I also pop a raw egg into my mashed potatoe - it makes them taste a bit creamy
