I am going for a meal tonight and just wondered how many syns are in a prawn cocktail from a restaurant. I cannot find the sauce (marie rose) anywhere in my food directory. I am on an extra easy day so the prawns and the salad in it will be free, but I guess the sauce is going to be quite high in syns?:sigh::sigh:

I ate out last week and had prawn cocktail and I asked them to put the cocktail sauce on the side, which they were happy to do!

If you syn it as the same amount of mayo and a tablespoon of ketchup, then you're getting close. I think a level tbsp of mayo is 5 syns? So however much it is, and throw in a tbsp of ketchup for good measure. Prawn Cocktail is quite high. I had to look up the Tesco Healthy Living prawn cocktail for someone in class it was surprisingly high in syns, despite being the healthy option one!!
