Team 14 - Scream if you wanna go faster! - Official Thread

Hope the gardening went well. It was my birthday yesterday, so my diet went by the board for the day - scared to weight myself now this week. We are also off south at the weekend to visit friends and we are going out for dinner on Friday night. I was 11lbs down and eight weeks to go after this weekend .......... it's so hard at at his stage.

It was my birthday last Saturday! You're my Gemini twin.

What is happening in 8 weeks?

I realised I am 10 weeks away from my wedding so I'm going to be super good til then. I'm not losing weight for my wedding but its a good incentive.

Take care! xxx

US Holiday coming up then - I want to be my "final" size so I can shop. I need lots of things for work.

Only 10 weeks to go till your big day - the time with fly beteen now and then. Are you having the works?

Where are you off to? I want to go to Vegas and San Francisco for our honeymoon but my fella wants New Zealand as he has family out there.

I am sort of having the works...well in my own twisted way! Wedding is in a hotel with everything happening there - no church wedding or anything. We're getting married at 4 and then everything kicks off from there.

I am wearing a big fancy dress but it's dark red rather than white. My bridesmaids (the adult ones) are in black and the kids are dressing as knights and princesses. No clue what my groom is wearing although I have begged him to 'think James Bond.'

Food is a BBQ followed by gluten free cup cakes rather than a big cake. Then its party time!

Can't wait!...yet still get a bit nervous!

Sounds fabulous - one of my business colleagues had a dark red dress and beforehand I wasn't sure about how it would look, however, it was so so beautiful. I have seen black for bridesmaids too - and they looked brilliant. Your "do" sounds great and I hope James Bond turns up - I know I would personally be wanting to dress mine - wouldn't trust him for a second :) I am only serious. You will have to post pictures.

I have never been to NZ - one of my friends returned from there yesterday after 6 weeks of visiting her daughter (haven't spoken to her yet).

Incidentally, we are off to Florida - my best friend and her family are coming with us.

Spent the weekend down south for my 18 year old Godsons birthday (another little Gem). More food I'm afraid, but I am back on track for the the remaining time to our trip and not planning any more diversions between now and then.

I am surprising myself by the way I am managing to hop between ss and eating - and I seem to get back into ketosis fairly quickly and without the horrors I had the first time I did the diet. Maybe your body gets used to it. I have to say, I am NOT taking this ability as "normal" or for granted but it would be nice for long term maintenanc. My CD has people who go for packs every time they put on a certain amount of weight and when they lose it, she doesn't see them again until it's back on !!!

Sounds busy! Good news abut the CD. Why not just go down in stages? My CDC does CD for 1 week per month when she wants to lose.

I would be happy to dress my fella but he won't let me so I just have to trust him! ARGHH!

My weight does seem to be moving again now, thank god, so I'm aiming to be 10 pounds down by my wedding. We'll see how that goes...

Hi There
Glad your weight is on the move again and good luck with the 10lb. I've been very good - though I did have some plain cottage cheese the past few evenings as it helps the acid I've been having. I am finding it very hard drinking much water - but will see how the weigh in goes tomorrow. Don't feel as if I lost more I have to say.
I sympathise with dressing your man. I always insist on going shopping with mine, and last time after he bought two new suits (with his arm twisted right up his back :)) I am sure he was ready to cry as he handed his Visa over. He'd go to Marks for everything if I let him.

Hope you have a good week.

Well I'm a pound down - with 9 to go til BMI 35 - so things are at least moving. I'm hoping it'll be at least another pound by Thursday.

Bless you and your cottage cheese - isn't it funny how such healthy things become almost criminal! I remember a whole internal debate when I wanted a glass of milk!

It'll be nice when (within reason) we can both eat good healthy food with stressing too much about the quantity. Lets hope we can get there!

I hope so. I am feeling now that I will eventually get there, and also that I will be able to keep it off. After my LL episode, I have been terrified but that doesn't stop me some of the time. I haven't checked my BMI for a while now - must do so.

Do you know I am sure we will get there...hey we are still posting on this thread and that shows commitment! How many others joined then went? We're tough and mean business!

I know - it is funny to be actually able to imagine the "real end". I know by that I really mean "the start of the real beginning" - but I'm sure you get it.
Will pm you as I don't like mentioning the "F" word on here - FOOD of course.

I am thinking that it might be a good idea to start some form of exercise. I did the yoga thing with my friend for a while towards the end of last year (and loved it), The only problem was that the class was a distance away and the session fairly long, so work commitments finally started to take over and I began to miss sessions.
I've never been very good with exercise CD's, but might try a yoga one now.
I have to be honest and say that my real idea of exercise is walking from Queen Street station down Buchanan (via Planet, Monsoon and all floors of Frasers - particularly the shoe one - I can spend the day in there especially if there is a sale on). Then along Argyle Street, with a quick (but thorough) tour of Debenhams - then across the street to do the same in M&S.
Back up Queen, snoop in Bravissimo and back to the station.
Done properly, its good for the recommended 10,000 steps (trust me I've checked it) but tends to cost a lot :)
Nelli

LOL! That sounds like the ideal exercise to me - but yes rather costly. We've got a treadmill and multigym in the garage and I try to exercise at least 3 times a week.

This weekend I've been away for my hen do (fabulous!) to a spa near Stratford. I've been swimming and using the sauna and jacuzzi. Heaven! I really like swimming so I might consider joining a gym.

I think its a case of finding exercise that you really enjoy. Maybe you should carry on doing your 10,000 step walk but don't take your purse!

Glad you enjoyed the hen do - sounds like fun. I have joined a gym several times over the years but always after a while I have found myself going less and less. I usually started out really determined during a spell when work was quiet (probably around Christmas or mid summer), but of course when things get back to "normal" it gets harder and harder to find the time, and that usually happens around the same point where I am finding it harder and harder to get the motivation. My OH on the other hand is much more disciplined when it comes to exercise and he will make the time.

Many years ago, I started doing step classes and by some lucky fluke more or less got addicted. That lasted for a long long time with me going four times a week and even doing step at home. (My job was a bit different then and it was easier to find the time). The thing was that I wasn't overweight at that point - but I guess that's probably part of the reason why. Maybe I should consider trying that again - I think I might even still have the step in the shed.

I'm getting to the point where I have to try something. My body just won't give up anything with me eating 1200 cals a day. I think I'm going to be up this week after my hen.

I'm hoping the gym will tip me over...otherwise its Atkins or Cambridge again. Except Cambridge being soya and basically poison to me. Argh! I dunno what to do.

What a pretty picture of you - had a quick snoop on your blog too and you look absolutely fab ! I don't know where you are hiding the 43lb you say you have to lose.

I think the gym will definately help. I had a lady on an IT course for the past two days, and of course as is inevitable when you get two or more women together, the conversation turned to diet and exercise.

She was saying that she exercises four days a week without fail, and that while she generally watches her weight (with a lot of cheating going on) she gets away with murder as long as she keep it up ("IT" being the exercise routine). At her age (probably around yours) I was the same - now I think the only way for me is something drastic like CD. I guess if I am honest, right now, though I want to lose more - the reality is that I am using it for maintenance.

I have been wading through some low carb veggie cook books my OH found for me. When I did LL, there were several of us who kept in touch, and the only one who stayed at her lowest weight (and is still there) is the one who moved straight onto the GI diet.

Thanks Nelli - I thought I'd come out of hiding and show my face.

I'm now thinking of doing the South Beach diet - more veg than on Atkins and healthier stuff. I went to get weighed tonight and I've lost nothing - since April!!!!! I've been farting around the same weight since then despite sticking to 1200-1400 cals.

I need to shake things up hence the South Beach. If that doesn't work I'll try something else. I think my body just gets used to stuff.

Its funny you talking about age because I'm pretty sure I'm older than you...

Ha Ha Ha - I don't think so - I will try to find a picture of me to post. There are not many of these around as I prefer to be on the other side of the camera.
We have a friend in the US who lost about 6 stones on the South Beach diet a few years ago - and when we last saw him (not so long ago) he had managed to keep it off.
I of course at the time ran out and bought the book, but as a veggie, found it quite difficult.
If you would like the copy I have (as I don't need it), pm me your address and I will put it in the post.

Nelli

PS I've not been doing so good for the past couple of day - been totally fed up and that doesn't help - willing myself to get back on track today as I don't have long until the holiday.
