Team 14 - Scream if you wanna go faster! - Official Thread

Hey, you two are making me feel guilty - this is a good thing I might add - I have been sooo bad since our holiday. I didn't buy any clothes while in the US (though I do need plenty) however, there were so many people all meeting up that shopping didn't take it's usual priority. We are looking to go over again around mid November as John has stuff to do with the house sale / condo purchase - so I need to get motivated for the shops if nothing else. I did buy some great Shea Butter while I was there (Old City Remedies). It is having a great effect on my normally problamatic skin (to say nothing of the wrinkles).

Sounds like you are having more fun! We've booked our honeymoon for November and we're off to New Zealand and Vegas. I'm going in 9 weeks so I want to lose at least 9 pounds. Wish me luck!

WOW - that sounds like a bit of a trip. I loved looking at your wedding pictrres on Facebook.
Nothing new happening here - the weather has been just as depressing as it can be and of course work work and more work. Not being motivated at all - but feeling guilty to stage I know I will get to grips soon.
We have a girls (of the oldish variety) weekend planned at the lodge for the end of the month and know I can shift a little before then - with a little bit of luck.
:)

Gotta love a girls weekend!

I've lost 6 pounds in the last two weeks - and this week, so far, nothing. I thought it was too good to last!

Hi There - back and at it with a vengence. Have put 28lb as an initial target but would like to do a bit more. Are you doing CD this time?

Hi Nelli. SS+ for me until my BMI is under 30 then probably 1000 cals. You should do 28 pounds pretty quickly. Do you want to go much further after that?

ps WannaB is about again as well. Its like the gang is back!

Hi Claire
Put about 28lb back on - most of it over just the last few months so I would like to deal with that first to get me back to where I felt OK - that leaves me with the other "chunk" I would ideally like to lose but never managed before.

What I've put on has left me a weird shape as it is round my middle - where I never gathered much before - so apart from anything else I am really uncomfortable.

When I did LL I lost 13, 4, 2, and 6lbs in the first four weeks and then the second time with CD 13, 3, 5, 2lbs. This time 9lb in the first week, then on days 8 and 9 a bit fat ZERO (though 1 this morning). I am sticking to the diet as always so feeling a bit down about it.

J says that it's probably because I don't have as much to lose (the wonders of a Health Science Masters :) ) and is harassing me more than my CDC about the amount of water I am drinking (finding that really hard for some reason).

Anyway, enough moaning from me.

Hope you are getting on OK - it is so fabulous that you have lost so much weight and good luck with the ss+. Also hope the weather it a bit better in your neck of the woods. Our goldies did a runner the other day and ran out onto the frozen loch after a roe deer. They hadn't a chance catching the poor thing and luckily the ice held. What a nightmare.

Hey I was UP 2 pounds for 2 days this week! CD is a bit random sometimes but it does end up going down. Give it a few days and things will start shifting.

J is probably right about you having less to lose. Bigger people do lose a lot faster on CD.

I've just (today) managed to lose everything I put on over Christmas so I'm now starting into new territory. Hurrah!

Is crazy icy here today..everyone falling over. Its lethal!

Hi Claire - hope all is well and the weather is co-operating a bit better in your neck of the woods. We had more snow today but they are predicting rain and high winds for tomorrow.

I am so feeling the cold right now, even though still not drinking nearly as much water as the last time/s. I had a look at a thread which was talking about ss+ and I think that if the tiredness doesn't clear a bit maybe will have a go at that - however I will give ss'ing at least till the end of the first four weeks.

Its been quite strange, I didn't have headaches or tiredness or in fact any down side when I started, but about six or seven days in began to feel really sluggish. Have you had any of that? Can you also tell me what you eat on ss+ I may be wrong but I was thinking you did that for quite a while?

Have a good weekend
Nelli

Hi Nelli

Is much better weatherwise here now. Just lots of rain. It'll probably flood now!

I'm on SS+ now and did it the whole way last time as SS didn't agree with me...I was freezing cold, dizzy and ill so that's why I moved to SS+.

What do I eat? Well I have my own patented lasagne made with turkey mince, tomatoes (my CDC says I can have them yours might not), mushrooms. I used thinly sliced courgette as the pasta then a bit of cottage cheese as topping. I make a big one then it lasts 4 days.

Other days I have chicken cooked with mushrooms, broccoli, spinach in 5 spice powder with a bit of soy sauce - for when I fancy a chinese.

OR just a chicken breast with a bit of broccoli and a large baked mushroom stuffed with onion and cottage cheese.

Those 3 meals pretty much keep me going. Hope this helps!

Hi Claire

Thanks for that. We are heading to our lodge right now - and the lodge always means food and wine so it will be a bit hard though I am determined to keep going.

I am going to make a plan for ss+ (plans work good for me as no plan means suit yourself in my book :)

Have a great weekend

We did thanks. Came home to almost no snow which is great.

Do you know if there are any juices we are allowed to put in water. I have been drinking Summer Berry but getting really fed up and I think that I saw on a thread a while back that there are some we can - though maybe I am getting mixed up.
Still keep forgetting about water unless I am at my desk with it sitting in front of me !
Hope your weekend was good too.
Nelli

Officially I don't think we can have any juices as citric acid can kick you out of ketosis. It doesn't do that to me so i have sugar free squash...its not allowed though!

Hi Claire
Just four pounds this week. Drinking water to the extent it will probably be coming out of my ears soon :)
