Lost in the Supermarket
As suggested by Acc- the Scouse thread; a great place to recommend great restaurants, shops, SW groups and fitness classes and events as well as a for a good old gab!

In the words of Our Cilla: what's your name and where d'yer come from?

My reccomendation for shopping is the L7 Village Market in Kensington. It's a great foreign food shop and a good place to get the unusual fruit and veg often found in exotic recipes. There's aisles of herbs and spices too- if, like me, you enjoy a curry get down there! And the butchers and bakers are pretty cheap.

Plus, it stocks the Holy Grail of alcohol: Keo lager. One bottle and I could be on a beach in Paphos :D

Boss laaaaa!

Ok I'll start. I am Jerri (Jez), I live in Huyton and go to Joanne's thursday night group in the British Legion by Huyton village.

I am getting married in August in the Yacht club and want to lose 5 stone to do my custom made, one of a kind dress justice!

I am a makeup artist by trade and also run my own company (don't panic Mods! I won't advertise here). I love travelling and my dog :D

Next.....

I got to Julie's Tuesday group in Liscard (one of them-she has 5 on a tuesday :O ) and have been going for nearly 9 1/2 months.

I want to get to target by the beginning of May- since my dad betted me £100 I wouldn't- and I kinda need the money LOL

Welcome everyone!

Acc I love Zumba too but I'm yet to find a class that isn't too packed so I don't end up with an elbow to the gob. I've been doing it from home on the Wii. Can you reccommend anywhere?

Ooo Team Scouse love it! I'm Becky, 22, student nurse, live in Orrell Park but go to a group in Crosby near my Dad's house.

The butchers on Walton Vale sells Joes sausages and burgers, and extra lean mince which is useful!

Also might be a little bit out of the way but there's a Chinese (Macees) and an Indian (Saffron) in Waterloo which will cook your meals SW style (i.e. no oil etc) if you ask for it. Both are really delicious and within walking distance from Waterloo train station :)

That's fab!!! OH's bf lives in Waterloo- will bear that in mind.

Bexley's in the Swan and Huyton also sell Joe's sausages. I've heard there is also a family butchers in Allerton and Allan's in Tuebrook do their own but i've never tried them. Someone else might have more info.

A question for Team Scouse: Does anyone know where there is a decent fishmongers? I love fish, but the selection in supermarkets is ***** and the only actual fishmonger I can think of is in St Helens :(

If you have a local Morrisons they tend to have pretty decent fish counters, but proper fishmongers appear to have died a death.
