Tracey's healthy yummy lovely journey

Joanne, id normally be delighted with 2.5 pounds but not when the week before was a 12.5 pound gain after being off plan for 8 weeks. I'm so disappointed. Normally after a week like that i would get about 5 pounds! Raging :( hopefully it catches up on me next week. Just have to stay really focused!

I get your point but that was 125lbs over 8 weeks. As much as we'd like it to, we all know that weight is a lot harder to come off than it is for it to go on. You will get there! I've done SW since Jan and only had one what i was could 'huge' loss for me- 4.5lbs but that was after having a bug! -hugs- xx

Don’t feel down about 2.5lbs hun that is a really good loss! I know it doesn’t seem it at the moment as you expected more but it is a loss afterall and it’s off and gone for good. You’ll lose the rest of that 12lb gain in no time, especially if you keep on plan as you have been.

That is a great picture of you and the OH you look like a lovely couple :) x

You have given me a great laugh Joanne, I didn't gain 125 lb in 8 weeks haha, can you imagine that? But yes, I know you are right. It is just disappointing because as you said it takes a lot longer for it to come off than it does for it to go in. Unfortunate but true. If anything it has spurred me on even more because I worked so hard for that 2.5 lb weightloss, and other times I wouldn't have worked half as hard or stuck to it half as well and I would have gotten a 4 pound weightloss. I appreciate every ounce of it now :D I know there is no point getting down about it because its just the begging. I had a little goal to be under 14 stone by the end of November so suddenly that doesn't seem too realistic. That involves losing 12 pounds in the next 2.5 weeks. Then again, you just never know :) I'll keep truckin' on anyway, and I will be 100% on-track this week! Thanks for all the support hun, it means a lot! x

Thanks hun, I think we look really American in it or something. Looks so cheesy but I love it. It was such a good time in the year to go because the whole place was so pretty with Autumn leaves and colours as you can see! Thanks for the support as well, you are so good. I am more motivated now because I just know I won't be sacrificing my good work this week, or any week for that matter. Making plans and provisions as we speak ;)

Ha just noticed that!! 12.5lbs I obviously meant :D xx

HELLO EVERYONE!

Well, here's to a new week for me. Not that the last one ended in the usual (well former usual) splurge after weigh-in, those days are gone! I have picked myself up, dusted myself off, and I am not going to sulk over a 2.5 pound loss. a loss if a loss. Yes I expected more but if I keep going the way I am going then I will keep losing, and that is what really matters. Maybe on some level a big loss would have made me even slightly more relaxed this week and it could have lead me astray. I don't know, just putting things in perspective really. As many of you lovely people have pointed out - the 12.5lb gain happened over eight weeks. It was an insane amount of bad food to put in to my body and one week of angelic eating was never going to rectify that immediately. This is a process and a long-term commitment and that is what I need to remember. I am aiming for about 3 pounds this week which I think is realistic. I would be very happy with that.

Potential Obstacles this week

1. Cinema Trip On Friday Night
I am still undecided on how to tackle this one. Any thoughts of advice would be great. I have two options really (well three is having no popcorn but I love popcorn). My options are to either get a small popcorn in the cinema with no butter (someone told me this is about 320kcal and therefor about 16 syns, does that sound right to you guys?) of I could bring my own popcorn (I could even bring two packets and be sure that the syns are about 12/13 syns) See this is where it gets hard. I will be sitting in the cinema smelling the lovely warm cinema popcorn and I know that anything pre-packed will not be as nice, but then again these are the sacrifices we must make aren't they? I need to make a decision.

2. My brother's girlfriends' 21st birthday part on Saturday night
This is an over-night affair involving staying in a b&b. I can imagine we will be leaving at about 5/6pm so I will of course have a nice healthy filling dinner before I go. Now, there will be 'party food' there which will most likely be fried things which I will be staying away from. I was thinking that I might keep about 10 syns just in case there happens to be some kind of salad, rice, or something I could syn easily. In terms of alcohol, I will be trying Martini for the first time. I will be trying it with diet sprite or something. I will also be counting my drinks which I have NEVER done before.

3. Sunday Morning, the morning after the 21st. Big Fry Up in the birthday girls house
OK, so this could potentially be grilled bacon, sausages etc but that is unlikely as the girl's mother is cooking for so many people. Chances are it will all be fried food. So, my plan is the following. I will be probably given strange looks but I am going to bring my own bread and a little tin of beans that I can pop in to her microwave. I am also going to bring some fruit. That way, if worst comes to worse I will be able to have my HexB toasted, syn a little butter, and have beans on top. I can get the superfree in with a couple of pieces of fruit. Hopefully this all goes to plan!

For all of this to work I need to be able to save 5 today, tomorrow and Thursday so that I have an extra 15 syns to help me along the way. Do you guys ever save syns?

Yesterday's Food Diary

Breakfast - 1 Slice Nimble Bread with 1 laughing cow light triangle and half a tablespoon of jam (1/2 HexB and .5 of a syn for the jam) I also had a pear (s)

Lunch - sweet&sour flavour mug shot (free), Rasberry and cherry Muller Lite Yoghurt (free) with an apple and a mandarin orange (s)

Dinner - Wagamama Noodle Dish (Terryake Soba) It was basically noodles, lots of veg like pak choi, peppers, red onion, beanspouts etc (s) with chicken and some of the Terryake sauce . I asked for it to be cooked with little or NO oil which they said was no problem. When it arrives it didn't look or taste oily at all so I would say the oil was 2 syns max, if at all. someone told me the Terryake sauce if about 100kcal for what you get and they literally give you about a tablespoon of it so lets say that is 5 syns. I would imagine that this dish could not have been any more than 7/8 syns. It was 95% free and super free foods and then the terryake sauce which was about 5/6 syns. I will count it as 8 syns just to be sure but I know in my heart of hearts there is no way that it was.

My boyfriend got a dish called chicken Dhumpori or something, it's a rice dish and it was DEFINITELY more or less free. It was basically plain boiled rice, grated carrott, lambs lettuce, chicken and a bit of the terryake sauce. The waitress said this dish contains no oil, so the chicken is probably processed. There was very little of the Terryake sauce so probably 5 syns for the meal, if even. It was lacking in the lovely asian vegetables though!

Snacks - a two finger cookies and cream kitkat (5.5) Had this after weigh-in with a cup of coffee, it was SO good. A muller lite Greek style Coconut yoghurt (.5)

HexA - 1 laughing cow light and milk in tea
HexB - 1 slice nimble bread & other half was probably made up by a little olive oil in the Wagamama dish, if it's extra virgin olive oil they use that is..
Syns -14.5/15 though I think the Wagamama meal was lower.

I am happy with how that day went.

Today is an exciting day for me. I am... don don don.... JOINING A GYM!:p Yay! I am not the kind of person who normally does anything like this. I can't see myself pumping away on the crazy big machines too often. However, I would enjoy walking fast/running on the treadmil while listening to some music. I would also enjoy doing some of the classes such as Pilates, zumba, and tonight classes. But the main reason I am joining is to SWIM. I love swimming but I have never been great at doing lengths etc and I have heard it is a wonderful form of exercise. After work i can often feel stressed and with the nature of my mams work sometimes I have to shower later than I would like. I also do NO physical activities. So this seems like a good way to kill two birds with one stone. My work is only a 15 bus ride from the gym. I go there ANYWAY to get the second bus home from work too. It seems so handy! I am looking at going three times a week. Twice during the work week straight after work and then once at the weekend. I am so excited. Nervous of course, but I really think i need to do some form of exercise to really enhance my weight loss. If I get in to the rhythm of it and I am organized it will just become part of my routine during the week. I like the idea of going after work, doing some running and working up a sweat, doing some swimming and then relaxing in the sauna for a bit before a nice long shower and heading home for about 8pm. It means I will be home at about 8.30pm those evenings and I can have something ready for dinner, or make something quick when I get in, and it means I am showered and all already so i can just relax in the evenings. Bliss. Eating dinner at 8.45/9pm is probably a bit too late, but chances are that most days it would be closer to 8.30pm and some days I could even bring an extra mugshot and some fruit etc to have after work and before the gym. I am so excited guys. If for nothing else it's a hobby and something to take my mind away from work and other things and it's something really good for me. HELLO WELLNESS! So I am going there today to have a look around and hopefully seal the deal. Watch this space :D

Today will be like this...

Breakfast - I had one slice of McAmbridges Brown Bread (2/3 HexB) toasted with 1 laughing cow light (1/4 of HexA) and 1 tablespoon of jam (1 syn) with a pear and a mandarin orange. I also had a cup of coffee (some of HexA)

Lunch - Spicy Sweet and Sour Mug Shot with another slice of McAmbridges Bread (1/3 HexB + 2.25 syns) with another laughing cow light (1/4 HexA), an apple, another mandarin orange and a Muller Light Yoghurt.

Dinner - Not really sure yet, but I have lots of passata so probably some pasta with homemade passata sauce and lots of veggies. Something like that. I will have about 6.5 syns left out of the 10 I want to use up today so that leave some room for maybe a small amount of cheese or something on the pasta.

HexA - 2 laughing cow light and about 180ml of Skimmed Milk.
Hex B - 1.5 slice of McAmbridges Brown Bread (had to syn the other half slice, but I didn't mind)
Syns - most likely it will be 10 which means I will have saved 5 for the weekend.

I hope everyone has a great day. I am really excited about all this gym stuff. I think it will be really good for me in a holistic way if that makes sense. Also I just LOVE water so swimming will be great!

Oh, and the gym membership is €27 a month which I am pleased with. I think that's very good value if I go 3 times a week.

Later

This was my random concoction that i made for dinner. It was a courgette, pepper, onion, garlic, carrott, an oxo cube, some passata, some garloc purree, salt, pepper and SMOKED paprika which i finally found. Thank you HoneyOc for the recommendation. As it was simmering away, and smelling so good, i threw in some gorgeous chunky raw jumbo prawns and let them cook in the sauce. In the other pot some Erin Low fat savoury rice simmering. Its the curry flavour so it's free.

Ok so the concoction was ready, and i added the rice to it...

It was really yummy and full of superfree. To top it off i had a yummy coconut greek style yoghurt (.5).

Syns had for the day - 9. That means there are 6 syns in the bank so far for this weekend :)

Looks good! I found the smoked paprika too :D just checking, do you know that garlic purée is synned? Xx

Oh i cannot wait to get in to my bed. I will definitely sleep tonight. I have had a great action-packed day. Today was the first day that we have had a microwave in work so i had a HOT meal for lunch, such a treat! Then after work i went to my friends house for dinner and we had such a lovely catch up. She knows i'm trying to lose weight so she made roast bacon, roast veg and mashed potatoes. I was delighted as it meant i was right in my syns for today. Then i had my first gym experience since joining yesterday. I did about 20 mins of swimming because i only arrived at 9 and they close at 9.30. I tried to 'properly' swim though and did about 15 lengths in different ways. I'm not an amazing swimmer but it definitely felt like a work out because i was losing my breath, my heart was beating fast, and my arms are KILLING me now. Lol! I then sat in McDonalds reading my SW magazine and having a cup of tea waiting for the bus. In 15 mins time i will be tucked up in bed, cannot wait!

Todays Food Diary...

Breakfast - 1 slice Mcambridges brown bread with laughing cow light triangle and 1 teaspoon of rasberry jam (1) a small pear.

Lunch - more of the rice/veg/prawn risotto thingy which included carrot, peppers, courgette, garlic onions and passara (.5 of a syn for garlic puree). Other slice of mcambridges brown bread (Hexb + 2.25 syns). Muller lite greek style coconut yoghurt (.5)and an orange and an apple.

Dinner - at my friends house - roast bacon with fat removed, roast vegetables with bit of oil (3 syns just to be sure), roast potato with bit of flora in it (2 just to be sure). The veg included peppers, onion, carrot and either turnip or paranip, not sure which.

Pre gym - melon and grape fruit box.
After gym - a banana

Also had a tea in McDonalds which was a little capsule of full fat milk. No idea of syns. Its only a tiny bit though... 1 syn?

Hex B- Mcambridges bread x 1.5 slices
Hex A- 2 laughing cow lights and milk in two cups of tea.

Syns - 10 but probably less.

Another 5 syns in the bank for the weekend! Yippe.

Guys, could i be possibly eating too much? I'm sticking to the plan and i am getting my hex's and my superfree in to every meal but i am wondering if its too much food? I'm just super sensitive now and afraid that i won't lose this week...

TODAY SO FAR

I am absolutely DETERMINED to not let this weekend ruin my great week. my weigh in is on Monday and I am going to be 100% on-track between now and then. And forever... lol.

Breakfast - 1 slice Mcambridges brown bread with 1/2 laughing cow light (1/4 HexA) and half tablespoon of rasberry jam (.5) and a banana and a mandarin orange,

Lunch - Erin Low Fat Savoury Rice, chicken and mushroom flavour (1.5) with other quarter slice of mcambridges brown bread (killed me to throw out other quarter but couldn't bear to give it another 2.25 syns. They are TINY as it is. Had this with other half of laughing cow light, a cherry muller light yoghurt, and a small apple and small pear.

Hex A - Laughing Cow light, only had one, and only had a bit of milk in tea so feel i have a little lee-weigh to have a little bit of cheese later with my dinner. like about a 1/4 worth of HexA.
HexB - 1.5 Slice of Mcambridges Brown bread.

Syns Used so far today - 2

This means I have 13 syns left today along with 13.5 syns that I have saved up over the last three days. This is good! I am going to the cinema with my cousins and the plan is that dinner will be a chicken salad with lots of leaves, onion, tomato etc and grilled chicken with the Salad Cream on the side. Syns online tells me that Salad Cream is 2.5 syns per table spoon so I would probably have two of those! It's called 'secret dressing' but it tastes EXACTLY like Salad Cream so if it tastes Creamier I will give it 7/8 syns for the 2 tablespoons.

As for the cinema. Hmm. I know a small popcorn would probably work out at 15 syns, which is a LOT. and also it is a lot for a 'probably' I might just get some regular manhattan popcorn, maybe even 2 packets, and at least I will know 100% that they are 13 syns combined.. I am thinking some diet coke and a freddo bar would also be nice. That would mean my cinema snacks were about 18 syns, and my dinner should be about 7 so I will be bang on target for my syns for the day which are 26.5! In the meantime I am going to check out a few other 'sweet options' instead of a freddo bar, but it will all be about the same syns.

YES it will be hard not getting cinema popcorn because I LOVE it. But you know what I'm going to love even more? BEING SKINNY!

I just feel so motivated and excited right now :)

xxxxx;)
