Tracy's Journey Into The Unknown (Maintenance!!)

Thank you hon! It is quite exciting, if a little scary - not sure how I'll be at maintaining, never really got to that stage before, lol. :) xx

It's just trial & error honey I've sadly spent a year yoyoing after getting to target last December but you'll find what you need to do x

I am hoping I will find maintaining easy considering I have only lost 0.5lb in few months haha
You both have done fantastically well :)

Thanks, Lisa! I think I'm going to more or less carry on with what I'm doing now to be honest, which is pretty low in the week and a bit more at the weekends, as I'm very used to it now so it doesn't feel like dieting, it's just my life, if that makes sense, lol. :) xx

Yes it definitely does.. I think it's Defo better in the long run to lose weight slowly, especially towards the end, as you say it is then more like a way of life x

I did that & maintained for about 7 weeks then got lapse & weekends became Friday-Sunday then Monday snuck in too & that's how I started gaining again. Oh well nearly gone now & we live & learn hey x

How's it going Tracy x

Pretty good thanks Sharon! Been feeling a bit sorry for myself this week because I've had terrible pain in my face, all in the left side. Went to the dentist, she did xrays and thinks it's sinusitis, so I'm on penicillin now. But all good apart from that - I even feel reasonably prepared for Christmas for a change, lol.

Diet wise it's all fine. I actually took a "selfie" yesterday, whilst trying on some clothes in Matalan - I don't have a full length mirror at home so don't often get the chance, so here it is next to a "before" shot:

I do look old and tired (I've not been well, lol), but at least getting slimmer! :D

I've been reading all your posts - you're super organised for Christmas by the sound of it, and I think I did comment that I love your tree! Hoping to put ours up tomorrow, just an artificial one but it always looks pretty. We're off to my sisters this afternoon for mince pies and mulled wine - yum!! Doesn't bode well for my weigh in tomorrow, lol.

Hope you have a lovely weekend. :) xx

Aww, thanks Rachel! :) It's really worth hanging in there and plugging away at it, in my case for over two years, lol. :) xx

Wow great pics - how far you've come Tracy. Truly inspirational :). Made such a huge difference to your life hey. It does get difficult with Xmas get togethers this time of year but hey I'm sure we're all more in control than we've been in the past. Always feels nice to get the Xmas decs up, though Dave has insisted on putting up some musical bells outside that are motion sensitive which are really annoying lol Sorry to hear about the sinusitis, Dave has had that on occasions so I've witnessed how painful that can be, hope it clears up soon xx

Getting there re Xmas - just needed it to fall into place in a chilled way this year so no last min rush. I picked up some party bits in iceland earlier that were £1 instead of £2. Enjoy the mince pies and mulled wine, sounds yummy.

Hi Tracy - I noticed you post in the cal counting section and just wanted to pop in and tell you - you are my weight loss guru!

Really amazing losses, and those before and after pics just say it all (and you don't look tired at all, just like someone in the middle of the delight called Christmas shopping :D).

Did you keep a food diary or anything like that? I'd love to know more.

Susie

Thanks Sharon! I've been well and truly plied with mulled wine at my sister's - 3 glasses!! Considering I haven't had a drink for months and am on antibiotics, it went ever so slightly to my head, lol. Hic. :D And we won't even go into the mince pies and homemade chocolate truffles! Still, no more naughtiness on the radar until my work Christmas lunch on the 18th, thank goodness. :) xx

Aww thanks, Lexie, I appreciate that. It feels really strange still when I look at myself, takes a while to adjust, doesn't it? :) xx

Oh thanks Susie, that's so nice!! We have spoken before, when you used to post in the WEMITTS section, and I noticed you'd popped up in the calorie counting forum. I don't have a food diary - to be honest, I have a rather weird approach, in that I rely quite heavily on low calorie ready meals, so not the healthiest eating plan! But I have made a real effort to eat added veg with every meal now, and to have healthier snacks. So I eat quite a lot of fruit, where in the past I'd have had things like low fat crisps and things, and was also eating a lot of nuts until I reduced my cals and couldn't fit them in! I also often have the little Babybelle Light cheeses, and love the Dark Chocolate Eat Natural bars. I tend to eat pretty much the same things every day, so some people would find it a bit repetitive, lol. I'm certainly no paragon of healthy eating, but I have really tried to improve things! As long as I stay around 1,300-1,400 a day in the week and a bit higher at the weekend, I'm happy. :)

I saw your new diary about adopting a mediterranean way of eating, so I'll pop along and subscribe to that as I'm interested to see how you get on with it.

Thanks again for your kind words! :) xx

Sounds like a fun afternoon :) I'm the same with drink these days - a cheap date as they say :) sometimes it does us all good to throw caution to the wind and indulge a little - back with renewed enthusiasm then to our diets huh. You've done fab Tracy xx

Thanks Sharon - yes, it takes very little booze to get me tipsy, so I was well away and my nieces and nephews were laughing at me! Back to the straight and narrow now for a while, as you say. :) xx
