Treat day?

Does anyone take one day out of the week to have that one thing you haven't allowed yourself all week?
A few drinks?
A chinese takeaway?
Few munchies watching a movie?

I do this on a Saturday.
I usually have a take away and a bar of chocolate/pack of crisps watching a movie.
Am I undermining myself by doing this?
Or am I just incorporating the "flexible syns" option?

Flexible syns are where you pick an upper syn limit and stop when you reach it - eg on a night out, a buffet etc

Undermining yourself? Well, all the extra food counts doesn't it and anything over your allowance will need to be lost. However, some people find a treat day keeps them on track and losing it completely.

I personally don't any more as all those extra food choices then need to be lost, I'd rather have the extra half or pound loss :)

Its completely possible to have a take away, chocolate bar & crisps & still within syns
1) order a chicken shish kebab with extra salad no sauce. If you want sauces put them on yourself at home
2) ditch the pitta & replace with a HEB one if you have it spare
3) if not, make a few SW chips & if you have a HEA left - grate some cheese on - cheesy chips!
4) have a curly wurly (6 syns)
5) have a packet of velvet cruch crisps (5 syns)

Still 4 syns left for mayo etc!

Every Friday night I have a take away, and I'll have whatever I want within reason. I won't go ordering a million things cause I'm not counting it, but if I want a big fat cheeseburger I'll have a big fat cheese burger! Though I am really picky about where I'll order from now cause that cheeseburger has to be worth it!

I usually order shredded chilli chicken (dry), with a 3-in-1 (curry chips and rice). I order the 3-in-1 cos it's a bit of everything, while not being too much.
I have no idea how many syns are in the meal, though. If I did, I'd probably not order it, or at least eat only half of it.
It's so hard when you're ordering something when you don't know the syn value. And I'm a real picky eater, so the things that I DO know the syn value of, don't appeal to me lol go figure !

i have a treat the nght after weigh in and dont count it syn wise.

I work a saturday night (busy restaurant) and allow myself a full size chocolate bar.
In fairness though, i wore a pedometer to work one night and walked 11km so i'm sure i work any extra syns off!

It works for some people, but I just found that having a treat like a takwaway meant I cheated a little bit more, and a little bit more...and then oops i've not been on plan for 3 days!! So im really trying to avoid doing that this time. But i know it works for lots of people and they can do it and still lose. Unfortunately i'm just very weak minded ;).

when i did it last year i use to have a takeaway saturday nights and loads of booze lol but now i cant have a takeaway or beer without putting on ! so the only treat i have now is if i lose more then 3 lbs on a monday weigh in and my treat is usually a yorkie bar xx

I have a treat meal after weigh in. I don't go crazy just have what I fancy with a bar of choc or whatever I fancy for afters. But then I leave it there. I also only do this if I've had a loss. I look forward to it all week haha.

I get a spicy chicken pizza from the indians or a chinese on weigh in night:)

Somehow the bigger the treat( which would be the pizza ) I get better weight losses cause i wont be saying to myself oh ive got 60 syns left ill use them on this n that ( i.e sweets ) so if I have a good treat I tend to stay away from syns throughout the rest of the week.

I don't have treat days at all, I figure why give myself more to lose? I'll just feel guilty afterwards because I've done so well to stick to plan. I'll have my treats when I've lost my weight, after all, it's the foods i would treat with that made me the size I am x

I used to and i believe it did me no good. I would just binge on anything and everything. Then there was the danger it would drag on into the next couple of days too. Now i just keep within my syns. Its easier and helps better with my losses.
