Ttey68's Advice :-)

Frumpster

Becoming Un-Frumpy!
Thought I'd best start a new thread as I didn't want to hijack Neco's thread!

Ttey68 gave some advice in another thread about taking a pic of yourself in a bikini today and using that as inspiration. I thought this was great. I am fed up of looking at the slim person I was over 15 years ago stuck to my fridge. It was so long ago it doesn't even look like me and I can't relate to the teenager with long wavy hair on the photo.

I have just been in my bedroom taking pics of myself with my mobile (used my reflection in the mirror!!). I took some pics of myself in my undies :)eek: ) and some pics in my 'target clothes' size 12 ck jeans and size L hard rock cafe t-shirt. :rotflmao: how funny!

It's a good job I am happy following this diet, otherwise it could have been a case for antidepressants. My jeans wouldn't go past my knees, in fact even at the knees the zip was busting :giggle:

I am going to figure out how I can print the pics off my mobile and pin them up everywhere. I totally recommend it. I am looking forward to the day when the jeans slide over my hips and zip up with no effort!

I would love to share the pics (I made sure my face wasn't showing!!) on here but not sure how to get them from mobile to web?

Hey Frumpster - pleased to of been some small help. Back in 2001 I did a TV show called FAT CLUB (the one with the US Marine Harvey). I stated at the time I had tried every diet. The only thing I hadnt tried was public humility.

Standing on a set of scales infront of 9 other people i'd just met, 4 'specialists' and a 40 strong film crew, and having the weight filmed AND read out was humiliating - moreso as we were in swimming costumes and I hadnt been in one for 4 years. The humiliation worked (knowing 13million people are gonna see the programme 8 months down the line kept me on the straight and narrow)

Filming finished. I felt I could ease off (MISTAKE!), a divorce, a new baby (3 years ago) and Marriage no.2 has taken its toll to the tune of about 4stone in about 6 years.

Hope you can find a way to post your pics as maybe the 'mortified' feeling of seeing them 'public' will keep you on the straight road to Costa Del Slim :)

We also look forward to seeing you in your Size 12 CK jeans, all done up with a belt to stop them falling down! Keep us posted on the progress.

TT xx

OMG  You were in Fat Club......I loved that programme!

Who were/are you? Or would you rather stay anonymous?

I loved that programme so much I bought the book :) I wish they'd never changed it to Fit Club with celebs (so called!) in it. It's always more inspirational to see 'real' people lose weight.

I'm all excited, feel like i've met a celebrity!

I did Supermarket Sweep when I was a slim student, It was a dream come true meeting Dale Winton I've always had a crush on him

Oh me too!! Loved that programme! Always thoought that if i had their support and guidence i would lose loads of weight - plus the public humilation. Think it kinda inspired me to go to the gym.... twice!!! :) Loved Harvey too.

Good luck with the weightloss

Wow! A celebrity on here! I loved it too.

What a great idea though...to take the pics...I might give it a go and stick the picture to my fridge!

Can't wait to re-take it when I am at goal!

I loved Harvey too. I bought his video Fighting Fat, Fighting Fit, obviously did not do the trick or I wouldn't be on here posting. Or perhaps it was me rather than Harvey!!!

Just a guess TTey68, but are you Tracey?
I think she was/you are the one who ran Big Beautiful Women.

I loved the orginal programe but also the celb one as well. I didnt like Carole Malone on it last time tho, the way she was with Anne Diamond made me feel sick, memories of bullies at school.

Carole Malone is mouthy and would probably be the first to admit it!

Having said that, she was doing the diet and exercise along with the others, whereas Anne, no offence, did try to cheat. The fact that her first gastric band didn't work is irrelevant. I can well understand the insecurities (and possible future public relations disasters and loss of revenue!) that prompted her to take such a drastic course, but in the context of the programme it was wrong. Bless her, she got caught. I felt sorry for her, but Ms Malone's resentment was kinda justified.

Yes Holly, that was /me. And hey look where I turn up all those years down the line huh! Wish i'd thought to do the CD back then lololol. The only support we got was very much engineered and geared to make a TV show. I felt it an awful shame ITV edited the programme in such a way it veered away from showing how it could be done. It was one hell of a journey and an experience and I have some happy memories.

Was actually chatting about the whole Anne Diamond thing last week for a reseracher for a Rado 5 programme. Didnt hear the actual programme but was emailed and it seemed AD's opinion of Fat people was '..maybe they shouldnt allow themselves to get that way in the first place..' Pissed me off a bit given she was a classic yo-yo dieter who snook away to Belgium for a botched gastric Band whilst signing up for Celebrity Fat Club, then having a further Gastric Band done FOC by the Hospital Group and she now endorses the same. She should have more empathy knowing 1st hand just how hard this can be.

Rant over! xx

Hi Tracey,

Glad it is you. I thought you were great on the show, very true to your roots. I felt you still championed for the 'big girls' even though you were trying to lose weight. I remember the swimming costume weigh in, and thought how brave you all were. I still think the first ones was the best, as nobody knew what to expect, I think they were far easier on the celebs

Is it really 6 years ago?

If you had your time over again, would you still go on?

Yes Holly - really is that long ago. We filmed May - October 2000 and the 1st programme hit the screens at 8pm New Years Day January 2001. I used to run the BBW bashes many years ago where ladies had to be a size 18+ or they were not getting in - but people always knew I was not a happy big person. I did and still do lack confidence due to my weight. If I had the chance to do it again - Probably would knowing what I know now, that being as with ANY TV programme of the kind - its all in the edit. When you think we were filmed from 6pm on a Friday night until 6pm on a Sunday once a month, plus they came and filmed on location in our homes etc, and that was edited into a 23 minute programme x 10 shows...they went for the sensationalism as opposed to the real issue of what we were doing. Still in touch with a few of them and, like myself, the weight has gone back. Some of the lads piled all theirs back on (and 2 PLUS a couple of stones), the girls fared better. But such is life I guess. Suppose if any one 'diet' worked there would be no fat people :)

:) So much for the camera never lies then!!! I think most people now realise that reality programmes are usually edited to show the angle the producers want, rather than the story as it is.

Congratulations on your fantastic weight loss - in one week too! You must be elated.

Am rather chuffed with myself I have to admit :) Thank you xx
