Valentines.

We dont need a day for our love, everyday we love each other and we know it so dont need a random day of the year, to do with something i have no interest in. Simple really lol.

but on that basis, you are getting older every day so why do you need a special day once a year to mark that too?

Nah I don't do Valentine's day. Money making scheme from the card companies is what it is!

I'll be doing nothing being a singleton :-(

My husband is on night shift that day, but we are hoping to do something nice together on weekend. Its so expensive and we are skint this week so im not bothered too much.

We're going out for a meal at my favourite restaurant on Sunday (which I'm paying for) and then I'm cooking a meal of his choice on Mon - think i've been stitched up here!! lol
he does usually pay for everything tho!!

Wont really do anything speacial, ive got him a card and i will get one (and maybe some flowers), probally just have a normal dinner, cos the kids wont want anything fancy and im not cooking again when the go to bed cos it will be too late (though i did when they were tiny)
Plus i will have WI the next morning and dont want to stuff myself the night before

Another one here who's not doing anything :)

I'm not a fan of it to be honest, I've told hubby not to buy a card or flowers. I don't want him spending his money and I'm not spending mine on a card either, they are so expensive!
Saying that, it's not about the money for me, it's about the commercialism of it. Same goes for Mother's Day too.....

Our local restaurant has a fabulous menu though and it's not at all overpriced either. I've resisted though because it's WI on a Tuesday!

Of course it is, but it doesn't have to be a card or overpriced flowers.

My point being exactly that. Its more to do with a gesture than a credit card;)

Maybe we could learn from our european neighbours haha

I must admit I agree with what people have said about we don't need one particular day to celebrate our love (we've been together 9 years this month) BUT it is nice to just go out on our own for a 'romantic evening', I will be making his card and it's the first time if I'm honest that he's booked a table at a restaurant off his own back, and I'm not going to knock back that lol! I will be eating sensibly, I'm thinking steak and jacket potato and wine from my syns x

We havn't even planned anything lol...So i hope he has something up his sleeve ( he normally does ). I worked christmas day this year and when i came home there was rose petels going up the stairs, so i followed them and in our bedroom he had spelled out will you marry me in tea light candles :). So he is romantic...but i dont know if he has out planned lol.

That's a gorgeous proposal sarahlou
We've been together eleven years so don't really celebrate it I have bought him a card and a mug but don't expect anything in return and I'm going to spinning class that night lol

Yeah he can be rather romantic :)
Was amazing...more so because i was not expecting it, I really thought that he was going to do it on holiday lol.

What a lovely story! I'm not really the romantic type though (thankfully neither is he) so will be ignoring Valentine's day as usual!

I'm working nights all week so nothing!

i got taken to see Spamalot on Wednesday as an early sorta pressie but would have gone no matter when it was on lol!
we do the card thing (when some one reminds him :p)!

having 3 very pink and sparkly daughters my house looks like cupid has had an seizure in it all year anyway :D

no matter what you do or who ur with or not with, hope u all have a lovely feb 14th (and every other day) xxx

I think for us it will just be cards (well I've got him one), and maybe steak for dinner with SW chips and I may make the coleslaw from the 100 EE recipe book ... men always love steak and it's free for me, which is a bonus as the next day is wi
