Vic Vodkas dieting rollercoaster - back to it!!!!

checked the slendertone system apparently they run on EMS not TENS :) learn summat new every day....from the website...

"Slendertone uses Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS) toning technology to create strong, deep muscle contractions to tone your body. It simply mimics the body’s natural muscle movements; signals are sent between the pads, switching on the nerves that control your muscles and causing them to contract naturally. EMS technology has been used for over 40 years in hospitals, clinics and physiotherapy practices around the world to strengthen and rehabilitate muscles"

Think I'd prefer the generic branded ones in this instance, they offer more flexibility with positioning, where as Slendertone seem to want you to buy loads of different kits for different body parts... = £££

I know what you mean Cheryl... have loads of exercise equipment, most of which I get lots of exercise from...bang mi toe on them most days.... hop up and down for a good 5 minutes - clutching my foot....must burn a few calories :D

Yes it probably does hun! I only have some hand weights, a ball thing (told this is good for positioning baby) and a wobble board that im not allowed to use now so i'll keep dusting it til i am

I know Vicky said we need to do cardio to burn fat...but here's an idea I'm considering...

Slendertone = toned muscle (admittedly under a layer of fat)

Toned muscle = higher fat burn capacity/metabolic rate

higher metabolic rate = more fat loss

fat loss + muscle tone = 1 hot momma :D

y'never know! could work lol

I have (after beg, stealing and borrowing j/k :))...

A...

Rebounder
Dumbells
x-trainer
mountain bike
fitball
thigh-master
skipping rope
yoga mat
wheel thing that rolls way from you when doing press ups...
rowing machine
loads of downloaded exercise dvds
ankle weights

and do I use 'em? Do I 'eck!

can't at mo with my poorly foot now :(, I keep my dumbells on the kitchen side and pump iron while the kettle boils or the microwave pings :)

And how many time if any have you used them???
I had most of the list you have mentioned, except a rebounder and rowing machine. I think if i could have one of those id use it a lot coz i love it down the gym but my house isnt big enough

You should have a look see if there's any pregnancy yoga classes near you Cheryl, can help make the birth easier so I'm told - that and your fitball :)...keeps you supple and flexible...walking is also good for that as I'm sure you already know :) I was walking loads right up to the birth of mini me :)

half a dozen each probably :).... not good but so typical of everyone I know who's bought equipment with the odd exception....

The only problem i have with classes is coz i work shifts i never get the same days off then there is what to do with oliver if hes not at pre school! I walk quite a bit anyway but not sure what to do with my ball! How old are you hun??? Sorry to ask but im guessing around the same age as me and vic

You don't have to attend each and every class - I'm sure they'd be ok with you turning up ad hoc, after all not everyone is at the same stage of pg at the same time :)... if it's a gym that does the yoga class, try and find one with a creche?... a couple of the larger public pool/gyms here have that sorta thing going on :)...hope this helps - bit of you time wouldn't hurt either :)
