Vic Vodkas dieting rollercoaster - back to it!!!!

When is your Bank Holiday weekend?

Are you kind of prepared for it? Cos if you drop 2lbs next Friday, what's next? Are you doing first half Conso 1 x treat, 1 x starch? Which day will be your treat day(s)? Your starch day(s)? Your PP day?

Bank holiday weekend is next weekend (off the monday) but im also off thursday and friday next week so 5 days off!

Starch - you mean pasta? do you have one slice of bread per day (small amount) plus 2 tbsps oatbran? how often pasta/rice/potatoes?

I've not got my English book on me and the French book is way out of date where Consolidation is concerned.

When I was coached, he recommended 1 x starch per week and 1 x treat meal for the first HALF of your consolidation period... moving to 2 x each the second HALF...

40g wholemeal bread is 6 days a week.
1 x fruit (excluding cherries, bananas, pineapple) is 6 days a week.
No change with oatbran.
1 x PP per week.

This is what I used to do:
Mon - PV + bread + fruit
Tues - PV + bread + fruit + starch (pasta preferably initially)
Wed - PV + bread + fruit
Thurs - PP
Fri - PV + bread + fruit
Sat - PV + bread + fruit + treat meal
Sun - PV + bread + fruit

And Friday remains weigh in day... if you MUST weigh in daily, remember not to freak out EXCEPT on Friday mornings! You shouldn't need your Senno any more... and read the rules carefully re treat meal!!

Thanks Jo. Im going to struggle eating fruit im not a huge fan at all :( and i cant have avocado can i?
Your plan sounds good to me - although possibly move treat to friday.
Yes i will probably do the 1 starch and 1 treat meal for first half of conso.
Its really like what you are doing isnt it?

OK just found my English book and he does say 2 treat meals and 2 starches per week, as in the French one, yet he doesn't in the coaching, so I wouldn't advise it except for people who've only been low carbing a short time...

1 and 1 is already quite enough to deal with, methinks... with the bread and fruit also... and even the veg/salad six days a week...

No avocado no...

Do you really dislike ALL fruit? In all ways? Perhaps you could put something in a sugar free jelly and have a sort of trifle!

Friday treat works PROVIDED you can then pull back to PV over the weekend. (I used to find that difficult hence I often did my treat meal on a Sunday!)

I'm avoiding bread and pasta for now as they're trigger foods for me. Not so much on their own but, if I'm having them, I want [fatty salty] substances with them... and worse still!

I was going to say "Or make a smoothie? or have a fruit juice" but I remember he did say to prefer the "real fruits" but can't remember why...

ah fruit juice.
ah just remembered i like grapefruit so could have that for breakfast (with something else of course)
oh you forgot the cheese jo ;)

oh yeah... funny that me who hates cheese forgot that bit!! Gosh I used to struggle with that!! I found a 9% (garlic and herb) one I could bear "buttered" on my muffins... but not fatty enough so didn't do well on that front... just couldn't eat cheese!!

Sometimes at the weekend would sneak some emmental in a sauce or something, or on top of something - I do like cheese that way - just not on its lonesome!

<live in France, don't like wine or cheese>

GREAT idea re grapefruit! I intended to incorporate them into my thingy... then saw the price!! Maybe as winter approaches and the prices get more reasonable! (Careful if buying ready chopped up that they've not tinkered with the juice/syrup!)

Ah no ill buy them whole and cut up myself. Bit gutted about pineapple though.
cant believe you dont like cheese.
I cant wait to have some cheesy cauli mash :D

Wow am jealous of the cheap hairdresser prices.

I like grapefruit but only warm with sugar on. Do you not like any soft fruit? A handful of blueberries or raspberries mushed into yogurt....

Seems silly to add foods you just dont like into your diet though. If you get plenty of veg you're not missing out vitamin wise.

Yes I agree Jaq. Im sure I can manage the grapefruit though. Fruit juice i love so wonder if i could just have that instead lol.
I love raspberries but expensive.com!

It's not so much that but it's introducing fructose... and sugar... and, for me, fat... I couldn't care two figs about bread, to be honest (if no thick butter on it!!), but still need to reintroduce it... to avoid these HUGE weight regains you see us all have when we go from low carb --> (ab)normal eating...

Very important... ok if we HATE cheese, we're allowed a skim of butter instead, but pfft not enough for me!!

Vick... where the old budget is concerned, Conso will be a bit cheaper than cruise cos you'll be eating less protein progressively - getting things a bit more normal... but not initially... and one tip I was given was to ALWAYS have a "Dukan picnic basket"* available in case of cravings and hunger once not in ketosis.

* meaning the things we can now rely on in an emergency as "free to eat unlimited quantities".

True i suppose Jo.

I forgot to tell you. My waist is 29" :p
hips still at 40 though but thats me!

do you have to freeze them seperately though? thanks im pleased bout the waist. now just got to be good all weekend!
