Lol im full of the fight talk this morning! I woke up to a card from marks mum. It was addressed to him but i had to read it! The card was "just to say hello" on the front then inside read " we would like to keep in contact with you but you seem to want to distance yourself, and we dont know how to fix this, so if you dont want to know us anymore then thats your choice. You know where we are if you want us. Love mum and Dad"

I'll tell them how to fix the problem.......Listen to your son and stop taking your daughters side! I have no idea how this is going to end up now as Mark has really had enough. I cant believe this is all over Olivers party and the lies his sister told us about not coming! Actually i can as they stopped everyone from talking to us over a balloon for OBs 1st birthday. 8mths til i got an apology, if you could call it that. "i suppose it was a bit my fault" is the biggest apology i'll ever get from her! She lies to the family and told them i was horrible and had told her that her balloon wasnt good enough. Please! Bloody families why cant they just be simple.
Poor Mark has that to deal with and has had to deal with a dead child at work. Not nice at all. Think i need to make him an extra special dinner for when he gets home......Any ideas?

went to buy a snuggie,came back with dog toy, bag on wheels for brum, greens and a bottle of wine pmsl!

That's not bad - I went out to buy sausages and came home with 5 huge christmas baubles (for £2) two bottles of red wine, and a bed for our (outdoor) cat! Must have been the day for it! ;)

Cheryl obv your MIL is into passive-aggressive stuff. What does M think of the whole situation? I'd send her back a nice little card telling her you'd be delighted to see her any time she fancies calling. Bet that'll throw her. And your SIL sounds like a total beeeeeeeeatch! I'd avoid her like the plague. :wave_cry:
 
Lol WW thats a fab reply. Mark has dealt with a very nasty job and got sent home early. His reply to the card was "i dont really want to even think about her right now as my brain is mush and i feel too empty to think straight"

Good advice Clare, what a cow the SIL sounds! Don't let her manipulate the situation (heaven knows what she's getting out of it to put a wedge between you all!).

Same shopping drama here, went for a bottle of red in Waitrose and came out with basil oil, herbal tea, etc etc...and almost bought a Ted Barker purse on my way through Canary Wharf - but think I'll wait until the job is actually confirmed and then go and get it! :)
 
Must be the alignment of the planets or something - usually I'm a stickler for a list!
 
I've cocked up spectacularly it's a shop bought chicken n black bean. I was told a year ago that I would need bi focals next and I'm having trouble reading labels in a hurry! I read per 100g as per pack lol. Not good!
 
Went and spent my christmas whsmith voucher on books today, mainly crime thrillers (and an illicit James Martin cookbook - should have been £20 but was £4.99 lol) not sure if there is anything I can make but it has some nice photos lol.

Also got a new pump for cleaning out the fishtank as the builders covered our old one in cement (should have moved it but didn't realise they were starting on the yard when they did).

Picked up the rower and shake weight from Tesco but not opened them yet.....................might mean we have to use them lol.

im thinking of cheese and tomato mim toastie dont in the george. what do you reckon?

ill put pics of chicken on later/tomorrow and OMG it was amazing!!! The pork scratching batter was nicer than the packet stuff but ill use the packet stuff muxed in with scratchings. bloomin lovely!!!

D - meatloaf and greens
ex - dog walks again (did about hour and twenty walking yesterdya what with having to walk to the shop to get another bottle of wine ;) )

Morning vicky :D cheese and tomato toastie sounds yummy. How do you deal with crumbly mim bread?

Lisa, my strategy yesterday on the bday cake was to accept plate and slice, not eat it and then offer the spare cake back to the kids. They were very happy!

Ps if you want to of course!!!!!
 
Mmm cheese and tomato mim. Cheese Toasties have been high on my cravings list this week, mainly because of all the lucky skinnies at college ice had to watch scoffing them! So far I've only made sweet mims but that might well be worth giving a go...

Ooh do you think mims would make decent fried eggy bread, too?
 
Cheese and ham MiM toasted sandwich is my favourite lunch. It does tend to fall apart a little bit, but totally lush.
