Step 1 Sole Source + Week 1

Hello everyone, this is my first time with Cambridge (tried every other diet though) So I am on day 6 of week 1 and not doing too badly, can't wait for my weigh in on Tuesday, hoping for a good loss for motivation. The weekend is much harder than during the week though. Any advice gratefully received xx
 
Hi there! Same here - I'm in week one ss+ (I need my milk!) except I'm on day 4. I haven't found it as difficult as I expected but yesterday developed a full blown migraine, I'm sure it must be the low sugar levels but I'm sure once my body adjusts it will go. Same here- any tips gratefully received!
 
Hi there, it really isn't as bad as I expected either. I am not hungry but still want something to eat :) Really determined though to be as good as possible before the Christmas parties start. I have got dinner out with friends next Saturday so that will be my first hurdle but then I have a good clear run with hopefully nothing to sabotage my plans :)
 
Yeah I think its hard getting used to not having any texture to your food! Looking forward to having a bar after week 2! What are you going to do when you go out, are you going to just make the best of menu or sip on water while everyone eats? It's not easy eh!! But totally worth it...

Hya, not weighing in until tomorrow. Will let you know how I get on. Planning on just having a salad or dome thing as light as possible on Saturday night. How are you feeling?
 
Ah, look forward to your news! I'm feeling ok, actually, apart from one weird side effect. Twice today's face has flushed and gone bright red and hot! Really wierd! A bit of googling has told me it could be a side effect of ketosis or the vitamin niacin which is in the formula! Well either that or I'm going through menopause 20 years early. How you going? Are you excited for your weigh in? I can't wait til Wednesday!!
 
Hi there, I lost 9lbs :) I am so pleased. It is funny that you say you have had the flushing, I had that really badly as well, started on about day 4 and then yesterday was awful, especially at work I kept going bright red and really hot. I felt ( and probably looked) totally menopausal, not good, lol. I have been drinking loads of decaf coffee though and I have cut that out today and have had no problems at all, fingers crossed that lasts as it was a bit of a nightmare. Really hope your weigh in goes well tomorrow, let me know.
 
Hiya!! 9lbs that's excellent!! Well done! You'd just never lose that on a 'normal' diet- the quick losses are brill.

How weird about the flushing, glad it's not just me, I didn't get it today thank goodness really embarrassing at work esp as I was already wearing blusher :)

Here's hoping for good news for me tomorrow too! It's been so hard but I've literally stuck to it 100%!
 
Thank god someone else gets this flushing also! I thought it was only me :) . I feel very hot, go red and head feels as if it would explode. I've noticed that if I drink water when I get this flushing, it gets better

Hahahahaaa!! We are not alone! I thought I might be going into diabetic ketosis lol. Hypochondriac or what!

I lost 8lbs! Well it was wavering on 9 but I'll settle for 8. Really pleased!
 
8 lbs is really good! Bravo! I dropped only 2.5 lbs at my last weigh in. It seems that my weight loss next time will be zero :/ . Any tips for maximizing the loss please?
 
I'd probably say, the water intake. I've always struggled to drink water but I've been averaging 2-3 litres. I think if you drink more it can be too much for the body too? I also don't have my first shake til 10-11am which helps stabe any hunger! Have you tested for ketosis with the sticks yet?

Very glad to hear I am not the only one with the flushing, to be fair since I have stopped with the decaf coffee I have been loads better. Defo agree on the water intake, I am drinking at least 2 litres as well as herbal teas, constantly in the loo though, lol. Here's to another successful week :)

Well if you tested then it would confirm you are in ketosis so that way you'd know without a doubt your body is in ultimate fat burning mode!

Hey there, how has your week 2 gone? I have lost 5lbs so that's a stone in a fortnight - soooooo pleased
