weight gain

Hi all

Im thinking of starting the Cambridge diet but just want to find out a few facts(sorry in advance for being a pain.)

After the diet has finish does all the weight come back? How long would it take me to lose around 2 stone on the diet and can you exercise whilst on it?

Hi there, i guess i'm perhaps not the best person to answer this but i'll have a go.

From what i've seen if you are able to do the sole source plan people lose on average around 4lbs per week, obviously this varies dependant on your own body and metabolism but this is around the average. A lot of people seem to lose more than 14lbs in the first month but then some lose less.

R.E the weight gain after, you won't regain the weight if you engage in a healthy eating/exercise regime. If you stop the diet plan and go crazy eating junk food then of course you will regain the weight as you would on any diet. I do believe some people will initially have a gain of water when they stop the diet as their glycogen stores are being replenished by reintroducing carbs and of course extra calories.

So really it's all dependant on your psychy if you're doing this to help to re-educate your mind and body and start afresh and remain healthy after the diet then you should keep the weight off and continue to be very healthy and happy.

Good luck whatever you decide :) xx

You can lose 2 stone in 2 months, or sooner. I lost 2 stone in 6 weeks :)

Hi, you can loose that amount if you stick to it, my start weight was 14st 4 and ive lost 21.5lbs in 3 weeks. The loss is differant for everyone but I would say that is definately a possibility.
Regarding the weight gain after stopping this diet, I agree that you will gain it all back again if you eat badly and dont change your eating habits. I plan on exercising more aswell and I want to keep this off.
You need dedication to be on the diet and its not something to come into lightly but if your 110% willing to give this a good go then the weight loss rewards will be so worth it :) xxx

its all about sticking to healthy eating habits and following a good eating and exercise plan. i will join slimming world when i've got half a stone to go and follow that plan for life then as i know it works well and allows lots of free foods to fill you up. the way i see it is that if you can stick to ss for x amount of months then when you are slim if you are determined to stick to that weight then you will be strict with yourself 80-90% of the time and allows for treats on a limited basis rather than regular binges. this diet has made me see how much junk i ate just because i felt bare without a bag of crisps or a slab of chocolate in front of me when watching telly, now i dont even think about it!
