Weight loss slowing down

Hi Sara I think you are correct as 6 weeks ago doing exactly the same as I am doing now would have shifted more weight. Thanks! I'm gonna look into this some more.

Thanks, we're looking forward to going! We're trying Pontins at Brean and no idea what the chalet will be like but hopefully it'll be okay  I just need to be very careful now in planning and taking food down with me so I don't arrive half starved and hit the local takeaway. Just no idea what to take cos we can't take any fridge stuff down as we don't check in till 4 or later.

It's so hard to know what to eat for the best weight loss, I'm thinking maybe I didn't have enough those two weeks when I hardly lost anything but I need to very carefully work it all out. Most of my evening meals revolve around rice, pasta or spuds and veg and my kids have been known to moan about having the same stuff too often. I just know there is some stuff that'll satisfy my hunger without being too high in fat so I stick to a lot of the same trusted meals.

Sounds like a nice weekend away. Are you planning to shop once you are there then you only need to prepare food for your journey? Its what we always do when on holiday as it also means less stuff we have to cram in to the car.

Alison I don't know Pontins but are there places you can buy your salads etc there? Or is it cleverly organised to make you eat in their restaurants? I guess if it was me I'd take things like tinned fish and kidney beans/ chick peas etc and maybe some soups as well. I guess there are plenty of veggies you can take. Kids food isn't my area - my child is a greyhound lol and he'll eat anything!!!

And hi Lexie I have seen this myfitnesspal mentioned a few times on here and you have inspired me to go check it out. Ooh I love this thread I'm feeling more positive already :)

Hi Lexie and Roo, not really sure if there are good shops down there or not as it's our first time at Brean/Burnham on Sea. I'm planning on taking two evening meals down with me - hot dogs and hot dog baps, not the healthiest meal but low in fat and child friendly/quick and we tend to have some junk when on holiday. Also, those dried sachets of bachelors cheese and brocolli flavour pasta, quick and tastes nice and you can add veg or have a side salad with it. As we're stopping three nights I intend to look for somewhere that does carveries for the other day as I'm pretty safe as long as I make careful choices. Also taking a couple of healthy cereals and bread/rolls for lunches, fruit and those tesco cake slices that are virtually fat free:p then I just need to find somewhere to buy a few fridge bits and pieces. I know my danger point would be not planning for meals and being starved and therefore making bad choices so hopefully I'll avoid this....

Thanks! sounds terrible but I've got virtually no self restraint at all so trying to avoid dangerous situations haha xx

But you admit that which is a great honest start!

I just want to post a wee update. I tried the treat myself trick. I think I have lost 3lbs. Bit stunned considering the lenghty walks were not doing their usual magic. It seems the types of food I have been restricting myself to did indeed need a shake up. I guess it must be like saying to your body, Hey- The famine is over catch up. I am going to do this next week too and am considering fasting one other day per week. And the exercise - less and more often. My lower back has been complaining about that.

Well done. So what did you eat different? Xx

I had some mince and potatoes. I haven't had either in about 6 weeks but I knew the next day would be tiring so thought what the heck lets try it. I'm going to try and fast tomorrow as some family arrives on Sunday for 5 days so it will be difficult to do that without raising too many questions (or unwanted expertise lol). Thanks! ox

Well done Roo! That's a good loss! I messed up my diet while I was away over the weekend and it looks like I've put 3lbs back on which I'm really unhappy about. I did all the forward planning and got over there and I just never had the will power to stick to it. It's knocked my confidence a bit but I've just got to get back on with it and get that 3lb shifted as quick as I can.

You'll be fine Alison, as you say back on it! Normally weight gained quickly will come off quickly too xx

Morning! Alison I'm totally sure I have put weight on this week as big sister and my two nieces are here till Friday and if I haven't put any on it will be a bloomin' miracle! I just have been avoiding the scales. And I agree with Lexie because we both experienced sudden weight loss after changing the food for one evening.

.... Okay! forget what I said about the scales. I just jumped on and have gained 2 lbs. Lets start again today. I get weighed at the GP in just under 2 weeks so I need results to get more Xenical. To paraphrase Lexie - Success is only a poo away! :8855:

Thanks Lexie and Roo, back on track now and hopefully I'll get those lbs off quickly. LOL, I love the success motto, indeed it's only a poo away hahaha!!!
I went without brekkie today, had a pasta salad for lunch and a small banana and 2 strawberries. I'm off swimming in a bit and hoping to try to swim for at least an hour, so hoping the pool isn't too busy! Then I'm doing a tuna pasta bake when I get back with veggies. I've just done my Tesco online shop and there are loads of low fat recipes linked to their grocery website so I've ordered some ingredients for some low fat stir fries, curries etc to try some different things. I think I'm going to stick to the plan of having what I fancy for dinner on Saturday nights still, but within reason without being too naughty. :sigh: I just know I'll feel much better when I start losing again. Apart from that I'll be going to the docs sometime in the next couple of weeks and need to show a loss to get my next month's supply of Xenical!

That is so true! Monday afternoon when I got back off my holiday I was weighing so much heavier and now today I'm showing up at the same weight as before I went away, I really didn't expect to lose it again in just a matter of days but I'm very happy. I'm wondering if my totm had something to do with the weight I was at on Monday as I'm sure I'm always heavier on the first day of it

Exhausted today after a 9 hour stint at work. Went swimming but only managed 35 minutes this time and my arms are killing me even though I only did a short time???
