Extra Easy What am I doing wrong?

I have been following the plan for 6 weeks and have only lost five pounds. I stayed the same one week and put on one pound this week. I can honestly say thay I have weighed and counted everything and am really disappointed, especially this week.

I don't have many syns -most days none and at the most I think I have had five in one day. A friend says I am not eating enough free food. I eat loads of superfree but she says I need to eat more of the free. I am not hungry and not sure what to do now. I do not attend a class and have joined on-line. Has anyone any advice?

I think you may need more syns. You're supposed to have between 5 and 15 each day.

Just from what you have said in your post your first downfall is the fact you are not having your syns. The syns are a fundamental part of the plan and you realy need to be incorporating them daily or over the week into your meals.

If you cut everything out then your body goes into starvation mode and clings onto the fat stores it has because it doesnt know where its next source is coming from. If you maintain having a little of what you fancy by the means of using your syns, your body wont go into survival mode.

Are you having your Healthy extra's each day as well?

Im sure if you post up a typical days menu we can have a look and see if there is anything obvious.

Well done on your 5lbs loss, thats a great result for 6 weeks on plan - hats off to you :)

I am doing extra easy and last week I had hardly any syns, at the most 4 a day and I only lost 1lb, so this week I have had between 10 and 12 and I lost 4lb. Make sure you eat plenty of the superfree food (1/3 of your plate) with each meal and have you syns and the free food you want.

i am 3 lbs from my new target and i can hand on heart say my losses are SO much better when i have atleast 5syns a day.

.. i honestly cant see what your problem is though hun, 5lbs in 6 weeks is 100% right.. thats the rate the majority of us loose at.. you should be very proud, dont put down your achievments. As long as its going, its going!

if you go syn free youl have nothing to reduce if and when you platau or get very close to target xx

How about posting a typical day's menu and we can have a look and see where you could possibly make some changes?
I agree with posting a meal planner for the day for us, that way we can give you more advice, but going by what you have said it does sounds like you are maybe not eating enough, although 1/3 superfree is important, your protein and carb intake of free food is also just as important, so if you are having mainly superfree and not much of the others, this could also be hindering your weight loss.

That said 5lbs loss is fab.

Hi all

Thanks so much for all your advice. I have looked through my food diary and you are all correct. I have cut down too much too soon - on the weeks I have lost weight I have eaten more syns.

I have only got 7lbs to my first target of 9st 10lbs and then my final target is 9st 7lbs so I am going to up my syns to between 7 and 10 a day and then when I reach my first target I will perhaps cut to between 5 and 7.

I was a bit fed up last night but had a clothes "try on" this morning and can get into clothes originally destined for the charity shop. My favourite summer dress that spurred me on to diet because I couldn't even do the zip up an inch now fits really well so that cheered me up and given me the boost to keep going.

you'll do it, 5lbs is a great loss, especially as you don't weigh much as it is!! well done you! keep up the good work, it'll come off :)

Upped my sins to about 10 a day last week and lost 2 and a half pounds! Really chuffed. Thanks for the support - another 5lbs to go. x :)
