You will probably lose more if you can snack at mid-morning and mid-afternoon as well (healthy snacks) as it will keep your metabolism going, and stop your blood sugars from dropping to much. It is perfectly normal to snack between meals, and going no more than 3 hours stops you getting too hungry and reaching for the biscuit tin.

Snacking becomes a problem when you snack on Mars Bars rather than apples, but having snacks per se is OK.
