    Maybe a dumb question, but I keep seeing on this site that folks lost "x amt of stones".

    It's a form of Imperial measurement. 14lbs (pounds) is equal to one stone. So a stone is 6.36 kg.

    if you type in google ''stones to lb converter'', you can type in the stones value and it will convert it to lbs in seconds (and the other way round too)

    In the UK we weigh ourselves in stones and pounds as opposed to just pounds and as someone has already said 14 pounds is equal to 1 stone :)
