what books....

Youre lucky I checked before I posted. Im lending my books to someone at work and I only gave them to her out of sequence
Haha, so I was risking getting my series muddled up by asking you :D Lol! ;)
I have about 20 books to buy now after all the recomendations - I think I'll buy myself one a month!

dont worry I googled it before I posted. Bizarre thing is I gave her book 1 then book 3 and she never even realised there was one missing :rotflmao:

I had huge reply typed and silly thing wouldn't post. :( I'll come back another time!!

Hahaha, I would have been the same - I'm awfully fond of being a bit unobservant sometimes :p

Ahh that is one of life's biggest irritations when that happens! Its happened to me so often that I always copy my text before I post it and then that way if its lost I can just press ctrl+v and it will all be pasted again - its a good timesaver hun! :)

Hmmm...this is hard! In my relatively short lifetime I must have read thousands of books!

A few I do like include:

1. The Time Traveler's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger
2. The Twilight Saga - particularly Eclipse and Breaking Dawn - Stephenie Meyer
3. The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold
4. Library of the Dead and Book of Souls by Glenn Cooper - compelling reading!
5. All books by Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs and Karin Slaughter
6. Before I Fall - Lauren Oliver - had me in tears a couple of times
7. Before I Die - Jenny Downham - I was in floods of tears with this one (and I really am not a cry at books person!)
8. Thirteen Reasons Why - Jay Asher
9. The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas - John Boyne
10. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time - Mark Haddon

What she said !! I agree with most of yours except I would add, "Thousand splendid suns" , the True Blood books and I also love Stephen King and Dean Koontz.

Ooo, just remembered another one! Sleepers, by Lorenzo Carcaterra. How could I forget that one! I actually managed to buy this book twice...I picked it up once after reading the blurb, then must have put it to one side while reading another book. I then picked it up a second time, thinking that it looked like a really good book! At least I wasn't disappointed :) xx

Don't know if I can pick just five!

- 'Room' by Emma Donoghue
- 'Shutter Island' and 'Mystic River' by Dennis Lehane
- 'The Girl in Times Square' by Paullina Simons
- Anything by Jodi Picoult!
- 'New York' by Edward Rutherfurd
- 'Girl, Interrupted' by Susanna Kaysen
- 'Gypsy Boy' by Mikey Walsh

-Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell - Susannah Clarke
-The Tales of the Otori (All books in the series) by Lian Hearn
-Star of the Sea - Joseph O'Connor (so sad)
-Angela's Ashes - Frank McCourt - was hilarious and brilliant
-Tales of the City (again the series)- Armistead Maupin (funny and gay)
-Wild Swans -Jung Chang (- still a classic and the only autobiography I have ever liked)
-The Good Women of China - Xinran - amazing amazing amazing
-The Historian - Elizabeth Kostova - scary and real
-Steig Larson's stuff - why oh why oh why is he dead.......it's not fair. That was crass - I'm sorry.
