What do you do?

I can knit and I used to Crochet when I was younger and really enjoyed it. Might have to think about that again!!! :)

Does it count as a craft that I can dress any crab or lobster for the table in under 4 minutes, scane mussels, open a tray of 12 oysters in 3 minutes and fillet a 10lb Cod in 30 seconds :D

Can I come to your house for dinner please!!!! When I can eat of course!!! LOL :D

I want to learn to knit/crochet!! One day. :)

Wow BL they are gorgeous, I am soooo jealous. We were discussing in work the other day what we can do and what we'd like to do and I said that I'd love to be able to draw ........ and you can draw and paint!!! You are so lucky to have a talent like that.

Isis - I'd say it counted .... I'd still be there a week later!

...and can I come to your house and look at your amazing art work? Could you do me a contemporary portrait of Isis the Ancient Egyptian Goddess?????????:D

I love art. I oil paint, draw, make jewelery, pottery....for a time was making candles and soap.

Here is a link to some of my paintings and drawings if anyone would like to see? My avatar is one of my sketches. :)

BL, they are fantastic! Do you sell them? if so where? I would love the Hibiscus flower and the owl!:)

Oh, thanks so much everyone for your really nice comments. I owe a lot to my parents - they opened a lot of doors to me as a child to explore my creativity. Both musically and artistically. I was a very lucky little girl. And the oil painting I owe to my in-laws. They bought me a little st of oils for a birthday a few years ago. I had always been afraid of oils and never tried....but I took to them like a fish to water and fell in love with the medium.

Isis - I love Egyptian art, and that would be an amazing challenge to do an Isis!!

Big Birdy, I have sold a few, here and there and had a few commissions....but I don't sell them in one place, usually just by word of mouth. I don't have the confidence to approach a shop to see if the will consign them for me. Afraid of rejections and all that. The chatter in my head around that is, as you might imagine, not very good. But maybe one day soon, with new found confidence I may try. Maybe that will become a goal!!!

But thanks everyone. :) Thanks a lot.

Hi Katy :)

I bet you could draw, even if you start out with some 'silly attmepts'. It just takes practice. You should get yourself a basic 'how to draw' book for beginners and give it a go!! Learning certain 'rules' really makes a big difference!! :)

I don't think you realise just how good you are! They are really fab! And I REALLY do like the ones I said!:D

....and no jokes about..."she was only a Fisherman's daughter...!!!!" ;):D

Ha ha, I'm a fishmongers daughter so have heard them all, my hubbys mates couldn't believe their luck when they met me......much stupid boy humour abounded!

I too can dress a mean crab and filet a plaice. One of my lovelier tasks on a Saturday morning was potting up the jellied eels:(

I hate fish now, shame it wasn't a chocolate shop that my Dad had eh?

How gifted are you, your work is lovely. I especially liked the ocean paintings, they had a very spiritual feel.

Blonde Logic, wow, those are gorgeous :)

My main creative hobby is card making - I'm daft about it. Hubby thinks I'm crazy because at Christmas I will spend whole days just making cards and he thinks it's a waste of time, but I love the feeling of being creative that it gives me. I don't like giving them away afterwards - and at the same time I love it, because people get a lot of joy out of receiving something you've made specially for them. I do try to photograph my cards so that I have a reminder of what I made.

I also love beading. It's so easy to get completely engrossed in it - it's almost like meditation. And there's no end to the different projects you can do!

I also write, but it's not creative writing (articles and factual stuff), so maybe that doesn't count. I do enjoy it though :)

Thank you Kate!!

My friend makes cards too, and she loves it. WHen we went to Hobbycraft a few weeks ago, and I saw all the kit you can get to make cards, I must say I was tempted - wow!! So many fun little things to use!!! Looks like a lot of fun.

I love beading too, and it is like meditation - you just get lost. I used to make American Indian style beaded jewelery, and I would get so engorssed in it. WHen I finally stopped it took me ages to stand up and stretch because I was just so involved I would forget to stretch!!! It is addicting.

Being able to write ANYTHING, creative or factual is a talent!!

My hobbies are entering competitions, any i can get my hands on, I've had some great wins over the last few years, last year I won a laptop a Wii and a £10,000 fitted kitchen, a 50 inch plasma and a 32 inch plasma, a camera and loads of books, and runner up prizes, just cannot win a car.... but it will come, so comping is my favourite hobby. I put photographs on candles, and sell them on ebay, I began after I lost my only brother, and I wanted a candle with his photo on, the ones I found had to have certain words on or verses, so I decided to make my own personalised memorial candles.

My hobbies are...reading trashy celeb mags :D, surfing the internet, walking, reading, socialising, dancing, clay pigeon shooting and playing board games.

Well, I don't get much spare time, but when I have got some I love to cross stitch. I am not fussy about what subject, I just lurve to sew!!!
I recently bought a job lot (59) Winnie the Pooh kits and have ordered a couple of cross stitch maps.
I sell lots of completed cross stitch on ebay when I can be bothered to list them lol
I also take on commission work for others:D

Have started to do a little card making recently, more in the form of Flower Fairy decoupage than anything else seeing as I have a dozen Fairies ready to go!
