I belive Ketosis is the stage in a low or no carb diet where your body has compleatly used up your carbohydrates & begins to eat stored fat.

Don't quote me on that one but I think thats what it is.

Ketosis is the by product of your body burning fat for energy. This process produces ketones which can be detected in your urine with ketostix.

Normally your body will use glucose for energy, which it gets from carbohydrates in food. Carbs convert to glucose, which is then either used as energy or stored as fat. Insulin is responsible for its action in storing fat. If you go on a low carb diet, you dont get the high glucose blood levels which trigger the production of insulin and your body burns fat instead. This produces the ketones and you are in ketosis.
