Where does it go?

The fat I mean? I know when I'm up for a good loss cos I pee like a horse, however pee doesn't contain fat, so is it just in your poop/burned as energy?

What a good question! Unfortunately I don't have the answer!

Body fat: What happens to lost fat? - MayoClinic.com

[h=2]When you lose weight, where does the lost body fat go?[/h][h=2]Answer[/h][h=5]from Katherine Zeratsky, R.D., L.D.[/h]To understand the answer, it helps to remember that fat is basically stored energy. Your body converts fat to usable energy for your muscles and other tissues through a series of complex metabolic processes. This causes your fat cells to shrink.
These metabolic activities also generate heat, which helps maintain your body temperature, and waste products. These waste products — water and carbon dioxide — are excreted in your urine and sweat or exhaled from your lungs.

[h=1]Had to google this as I was also intriuged....

Ultimately most fat ends up as carbon dioxide and water, but only after many transformations. The fat in white adipose tissue consists of fatty acids, stored very efficiently as triglycerides, which can be released to provide energy when needed. You lose weight when the food you eat doesn’t provide all the energy your body needs and so some of these fatty acids are released into the bloodstream, transported by a special blood protein and taken up by cells that need energy. If there is sufficient oxygen available, a series of enzymes then converts the fatty acids into carbon dioxide, water and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) – the immediate source of energy for powering muscle, liver and other cells. Since most of the components of ATP are reused inside the cell to make new ATP, the end product of all this activity is that the atoms that once made up your fat leave your body as breath, sweat and urine.[/h]

V interesting, thank you :)

So all the pee is technically the fat I'm losing :) wish the fat wasn't getting me up twice a night though!!

Me three!

There's a lot of diuretic foods though, such as caffeine in tea/coffee and our diet pepsi/coke, fruits such as strawberries, pineapple, melon. Are yous eating any of those in the evenings?

oh this is fascinating! I do pee a LOT, but I figured it was just the extra liquid content in the foods I'm eating....apparently not all of it :)

My peeing all night is because my body is not attuned properly, your body secretes a hormone at night to slow down your bladder, however mine works during the day! I have a wee at 6am and generally not again until 3-4 o'clock in the afternoon.

TMI alert:
This caused worry when I was catheterised, I had to go through a bladder wash and an ultrasound because they didn't believe me that I don't need to go until the afternoon. Felt vindicated when my bag filled at 3.15 pm though!!!!

Some days like today I go all day as well this is because I have been awake most of the night with a headache!
