I've been on/off weightwatcher for about... 3 years. Every time I start up again I have the best of intentions but stumble at the exact same problem every time.

My health goes to poo on weightwatchers???

I'm sitting here now with about 6 spots and 3 coldsores... when i eat whatever the hell I want I NEVER have spots.

I have IBS and when I'm weightwatching I always need to go at the most inappropriate time (like in the middle of the flippin night!! argh!)

I'm always cold and exhausted, and i've had about 5 migraines in the past 2 weeks.

I have an idea that my body is very intolerant to a lack of fat in my diet and/or high levels of carbohydrates.

I'm feeling really stuck and uninspired, and in need of some ideas, people! xx

Hi Hanna, Sounds to me like you could do with some added vitamins and something for the IBS. Have you been to the docs about it?
I suffer from IBS as well and can get some really awful pains if I don't take care about what I am eating.
Have you found out what actually triggers off your attacks and the migraines? That's a good starting point.
Don't give up! Will pop back from time to time to see how you are getting on....:)

The spots, coldsores and migraines sound like you are detoxing... if you follow ww the "healthy" way, i.e. low carbs, high protein, cut down on junk etc, then your detox should only last a few days.... Once you get in the swing of it and get through your detox you will notice your health and vitality improving - but it will mean making the changes mentioned above - cut out junk, swap sugary treats for fruit etc..... I find on weeks when I dont eat much fruit and have a lot of treats (albeit they are weight watchers and within my points) I get spots, feel lethargic and have poor losses...

It sounds like detox! The trick is to drink plenty of water, and keep hydrated.

I would say it could be likely that I'm a bit deficient in vitamins... I have seen a gastro specialist about my IBS and he palmed me off with Fybogel and basically NO nutritional information or even a referral to a Dietician.. I know one things for sure that fizzy triggers it in excess and that's about it!!

With regards the migraines, I'm really not completely clued up. I find that too much, or not enough sugar can be one of my big triggers although I think there are more.

I was taking protein shakes and a super healthy gym diet, and I was getting DAILY migraines - on hindsight I think I was going in and out of ketosis and basically starving my body (and this is based on a diet plan with maxitone!!!)

I've had IBS since early 2009 (swine flu vaccine triggered it) and I've never been able to manage it properly. Non dieting I'm going constantly and URGENTLY. Dieting I rarely go and its painful and usually in the middle of the night!

Yeah you're probably right, I think I'm only doing weightwatchers in a semi healthy way, and I could do a lot better! I try to eat fruit more but I can't tolerate skins so it really makes it such a bother to eat apples and the like. (I have arthritis in my hands)

I do make an effort to drink water - get through about 2-3 litres but i'm going to the toilet about 6 or 7 times during the working day... But I have filled up my pint glass as I type this! :p

I just read this post back and it makes me sound really old, but i'm actually 24 haha

When I went to see the doctor about IBS I was really lucky to have one that also suffered so was able to give me lots of basic pointers!

Do you keep a food diary? If not it may be worth keeping one and varying your diet, keeping a close eye on the dates that you suffer badly and see if the same things are triggering.
