Same thing happened to me in that they have run out of places at halls so I had to go to some housing meeting and all of the people in the same position go to the housing meeting and you literally go up to people and say 'would you like to live with me'. It was VERY peculiar! The uni organised it all so maybe speak to the uni about it. What uni is it out of interest??

1st well done on getting into uni!
2nd no idea about housing, i only went college and had my own flat, so cant help you there.
probably a few in your position, so something will have to be sorted.
were you looking forward to halls?

I'm sure you'll get something. Some people they had accommodation for will end up going to other universities and so their places will become available. I would keep ringing every few days to check what's happening.
