I am thinking of taking up Zumba to increase my exercise but I'd be going on my own and I don't know anyone who's done it before. Although I am really still quite big, I am relatively active. I walk the dog most days and can do 5km without too much trouble. I am on my feet quite a bit doing things and last year I climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge so I'm not that unfit. But would it be suitable for someone of my size? Perhaps someone who currently does Zumba or who knows someone who does it could help?

Hi I go to Zumba and my teacher is fab, there are ladies of all sizes shapes and abilities. We do what we are comfortable with no one looks at your or judges I'm probaly the worst dancer there, my class is full of girls in belly tops who are super skinny and I don't feel uncomfortable I'm a size 14 x

Hi, zumba is fantastic, you can do it any size and whats best is it doesn't feel like exercise! Go for it! :)

I go to Zumba three times a week. I love it, it's so much fun that it doesn't feel like a workout. I'm a size 16 and wouldn't class myself as fit at all but I now manage to get through an hours class without feeling too shattered.

I go to zumba. I can't dance and have no sense of rhythm. But it's fun and as long as I keep moving it must be good for me. Right? ;)

I go to Zumba and agree there's people of all different shapes and sizes there, it's a really fun workout, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

I'm a size 20 and didn't care about my weight when I went to a Zumba class, just my severe lack of co-ordination! Personally preferred Body Combat, but don't feel self conscious despite always being the biggest at any class (although hopefully not for much longer...)
