That's why we are all here is it not..?
Don't put a smiley face on your comments your not fooling anyone - if you mean it, say it. Don't pussy foot about.
I really don't need your sob story about why you are overweight, we all have one. You came close to cancelling the appointment because of my comments? If you read my second comment " It's not your fault that this is available - it angers me that the NHS offer this. " The way you have worded...
I'm not being sh*tty.
Simply stating a fact.
Of course you would much rather take the prescription than DIY.
The way i'm looking at it, is this: You've put the weight on, why should tax payers pay for it to come off?
It's not your fault that this is available - it angers me that the NHS...
Can you get the gym for free because your over weight?
Paid for by the NHS?
You don't need to swim to lose weight there are miles and miles of roads, common land etc that you can cycle and walk/jog around.
If you can't afford the gym then don't go. Don't expect some body else to pay for it.
I've looked at the herbalife one, and im not looking for an meal replacement. I'm looking for a weight loss protein shake, so a shake with high protein, low kcal, low carbs and almost no sugar ! Unless I was looking at the wrong herbalife product?
Unfortunately it is not an exact science.
It varies individually depending on several factors incl. BMR, weight, fitness etc etc
What do you mean by losing 10 calories every 5 weeks? As in dropping 10 kcal off of 1200?
When measuring weight loss I go by inches lost as opposed to weight on...
I love to cycle, I do 5k daily and I only burn off around 180 calories.
I think how many calories it burns off depends on lots of factors including BMR, weight and resistance etc. I may be wrong, i'm sure some body will correct me if i'm wrong though!
Agree that some woman (myself previously included!) don't do weights due to fear of looking like a man!
I've now been having weekly PT sessions doing weights and I can already notice a difference. I'm now more than happy to be in the " testosterone zone " of the gym!
Thanks for sharing this! :)
Before I begin I understand this forum is for weight loss, but has anyone began on the opposite end of the spectrum? For example, being slightly/very underweight to gaining too much weight? If so how did you cope with the dieting and weight loss without reverting back to being underweight or...
Can I join ?! :)
16.3hh RID - he also had a lovely 'tache until I cut it off last week :p
Sorry to hear about your boy LMB, sending him some healing vibes now.
My GP said things may get worse before it gets better.
Stick with it and see if it evens itself out, when I started I had horrid side effects but I kept it up and it the side effects eased off; but I decided it just wasn't for me.
Thank-you dexter mummy. My BMR came up as 1709.7 but after doing the Harris Benedict equation and X it by 1.55 I got = 2650.03. I read some where that you take 15-20% off your daily calorie intake, to find how many calories you should be eating. So that's why it left me slightly confused...
Thank-you.
I worked out my BMR and used the Harris Benedict Equation to calculate my calories and it equated to 1000!
I though that seemed low so I went to 1200/1300 instead.
I have been snacking on frozen grapes (love these!) to keep metabolism running.
As I am counting calories do I need...
I have spearmint & peppermint tea daily.
Thought it was just healthy, didn't realise it was supposed to help with PCOS. I haven't noticed it helping with any symptoms though.
Interesting article, thank-you.
The story to date:
Weighed 14.5 stone
Dropped calorie intake to 1300.
Exercising daily
The weight is dropping off!
I've lost a stone in 2 weeks but i'm confused in terms of nutrition.
This is working but...
I presumed (correct me if i'm wrong) that the sugar in my diet would be burned up...
As I said, I've dropped to 1300 daily.
I think i'm in the wrong section, noticed a calorie counting one so think I will be lurking in there!
Thanks for everybody's help though.
Thank-you Mrs.J,
At the moment I am calorie counting and allowing myself 1300 kcal per day. I've cut out all sugar and starch and started exercising daily.
I am just a little unsure as to what constitutes a very low calorie diet, is it simply cutting your daily intake or is there an actual...
