    chicken skin

    Still, I find it difficult to throw away the skin sometimes... Our consultant told us to remove skin after - and specifically said not to remove it before cooking to stop it drying out (which is presumably down to her personal preference).

    Bit fed up :(

    Don't be discouraged - you are still 8lb lighter than when you started! Hormones can cause you to retain water, especially in the middle of your period. Keep food optimising, keeping active, and I'm sure you'll have another great result next week

    Lunch Ideas

    I'm on Extra Easy. In the last 2 weeks I've been making a big batch of lentil curry (lots of peppers, tomato, onion, spices etc) and rice on a Sunday and bring portions to work throughout the week to heat up in the microwave. It's tasty, cheap and easy to prepare :)

    Walking up and down stairs

    A year ago, I decided that I wouldn't use the lifts at my work any more - and I've taken the stairs every day since. It still tires me out sometimes (4 floors from my locker to my desk - multiple times a day), but these things add up!

    The important thing is that you find a kind of exercise which you enjoy - regardless of whether it is cardio or strength. I think you should consider both cardio and strength training - the benefits of both combined can make a huge difference to how you feel, and can speed up the weight loss...

    In terms of being nervous exercising in front of strangers, remember: everyone is concentrating on their own work out - no-one will be judging you. I often feel the same though - sometimes you just have to power through and get on with it. Good luck!

    How to stop it ruling your life

    I'm not sure what it is about the Slimming World plan, but I know that I feel a lot less guilty about what I eat - compared with previous "diets" I've tried. It feels a lot more sustainable (although I'm only 4 weeks in).
