I have picked myself up, and hot myself back on track.
I somehow managed to lose 3lbs this week, no idea how with the rubbish I binged on, but that was then, and focused on having a brilliant week this week.
I've got much stronger painkillers from the doctor today, so that should help me get...
Congrats everyone on this weeks loss.
I weighed last night as tonight my house will be full of roleplaying game people as Harry is hosting a game (I'll hide in the bedroon!). Totally shocked to find a 3lb loss as I really have been of the tracks after AF hit (mega chocolate and crisp binges)...
No idea how, but 3lbs off!!! Lickthelid, you keep being 1lb ahead of me!!!!

Well, today is not a good day. I slept really badly as was trying to do without so many painkillers, but that didn't work out so well. I've had my soup and HEB wholemeal roll, but have just found out that Harry is out tonight, and is going straight from work. He normally makes dinner on a...
My experimental lentil dhal was a disaster, really tasteless. I think my spices may be getting old as there were loads in it, but it was unbelievably bland. Still ate it, but feeling totally unsatisfied.
Ended up having a KitKat chunky which at 13.5 syns is far more than I should have had, but...
Hi, hope Monday is being kind.
It's TOTM for me, and in really craving bread. We are having lentil dhal for dinner, with loads of rice, but does anyone have a low syn recipe for naan bread, or any suggestions? It's all I can think about, well, that and chocolate....
Tonight's dinner was a bit of an experiment, lemon chicken. It was nice, but didn't quite hit the spot, not sure what to change in the recipe though
LEMON CHICKEN (serves 2)
120g shredded cooked chicken
1 onion, chopped
Juice of half a lemon
0.5 tsp cornflour (1 syn)
1 tbsp soy sauce
0.5 tsp...
Happy Mother's Day everyone
As both our mums are in a different city, it's really just another day for us.
I've got some lentil soup on the hob at the moment, smells great. I'll pop the recipe up once I've tasted it.
Brunch was cheesy beans on a wholemeal roll for me, and made Harry two fried...
Well, not too bad a day, had 10syns of Jaffa cakes, and did have some chicken skin, but don't think I am over 15 syns, so happy with that.
Had a very basic dinner of some noodles with chicken and soy sauce, tasty and gave me my second HEB for the day.
Hope you are all having a good weekend.
Any idea of the syns in chicken skin? I normally pretend that the reason it goes crispy is because the fat has melted away, but I may be mistaken :-) I had a few pieces from the chicken we just roasted...
Just got a wonderful omelette made for me, 2 eggs, mushrooms, onion and my HEA of grated cheddar, was super tasty.
I did slip up though, had some crispy chicken skin from the chicken we roasted...
Just done our weekly shop, managed everything for £23! We got:
Whole chicken
Red onions
Garlic
Spring onions
Mixed peppers
Plums
Dried chickpeas
Dried butter beans
Red lentils
Green lentils
Quark
Fromage frais
8 tins of tomatoes
18 eggs
Chilli powder
Baked beans
We will roast the chicken today...
Just home, dinner was simply whole meal pasta with my HEB of olive oil, balsamic vinegar and HEA of parmesan. So managed all my healthy extras and all my syns today which I think is a first :)
I have got a lovely Whistles silk summer dress that I bought to slim into. It's a size 12 (but looks tiny) and I'm pushing the top end of a 16 right now, so that would be amazing
I feel like I've had an unbelievably decadent lunch, to be fair it was as I've used all my syns for the day, but I know I'll not get a chance to use them at any other point, so thought I might as well.
Dreading the course tonight, it makes it such a long day, and I already feel like bed. Plus...
My husband, Harry, works in a newsagents, and quite often has a secret stash of chocolate. I have no idea where he keeps it, but he surprised me with some occasionally. Last year I would go out the room and come in to a creme egg, it was amazing (although not for the weight)
Anyway, last night...
I saw myself in a mirror in the airport, and for the first time couldn't see anything even remotely attractive about how I looked...clothes showed bumps everywhere, face was round, no cheekbones, double chin, you name it, I had it!
Sound great RB. I did drop a fairly large hint to the other half about how much I'd love some chocolate, but no joy and can't be bothered going over the road to the shop (literally 1 minutes walk).
2lbs off this week, so going in the right direction at least. Not had any syns today, would love to have some chocolate, might see how the evening goes
Next week I will aim to have all my healthy extras as really not done that this week.
Well, 2lbs off so that's something

Evening
Well, week 1 and I managed 2lbs off. Feel a bit sad about that, as I didn't even end up using all my syns, but also didn't have all my healthy extras, so will try and up them for next week
Panic over, turns out DH has sorted something before he went to work, going to have cajun pork with spicy rice, although ti is mostly the spicy rice :)
How amazing to be in a size 12. I bought size 12 jeans at one point last year, the assistant was trying to get me to try on a 10, but she hadn't seen the 15 minutes it took me to get into the 12's!
I've had a mugshot with fruit and one HEA of laughing cow triangles...maybe an extra easy day would be a good idea. They are amazing sausages, flavoured with cajun & BBQ seasonings. Our local butcher goes to slimming world, and gave out a list of what was in them, which proved they were free...
Feeling down today, didn't have enough money to get the bus to work, so had to walk the 2 miles with my crutch for help, so now have a sore arm, shoulder and leg...but I guess it's good for me in some ways.
No idea what we are going to do for dinner tonight, we used the last tin of tomatoes...
Not watched it, but sounds totally like me. For ages my dog used to ask to get out at 3am, so I would put her on her lead, stand at the back door and eat biscuits until she was done. Never thought anything about it and was still confused about why I didn;t lose weight!
Looking forward to seeing your diary, I feel a bit the same about food, and I've also been on either slimming world or other eating plans for years, and am heavier than I have ever been!
Sorry to hear about the work hassles, had enough of those with preivous jobs to last me a lifetime. I meant to find myself a nice weathly doctor or accountant so I could stay at home and bake, but somehow ended up marrying a pennyless artist
:o
I weigh tonight when I get home, think it is...
Pasta was lovely, though turned out what I thought was a jar of anchovies was actually just a jar of the oil they came in, DH had kept it to add flavour!
Still, really enjoyed it, and will have some fruit later on.
A good day really, 5 syns in total and it included a bag of crisps :-)
Some things from the Chinese are fairly low, think chow mein or chicken in black bean are ok.
Not sure about the nandos, sure someone will be able to find out though
Not home from work yet, but planning a pretty basic pasta thing for tonight, mostly tomatoes and whatever veg I can find. I've popped the recipe on my food diary thread.
The only colours I can come up with are red (tomato based dishes), green (pea or spinach based maybe), white (risotto or a...
I'd definitely recommend it. I eat when sad, lonely or bored, stressed too. Being able to snack on so many tasty things is what make me better at SW than any other diet, plus you have your syns as well if you need that sweet treat (or drink/take away)
Good luck whichever route you take x
I got an email asking if I'd do a mystery shop for a pizza delivery place, was hard to say no to free pizza you get paid to eat...
Definitely have a little chocolate, always make you feel a bit better
Trying to think of a interesting one...I definitely do need more exercise..
What about something like no two consecutive days main meal can be the same colour? I am terrible for having brown meals (love soy sauce) so that might encourage more variety in meals? Not sure if too difficult thought...
I basically can't do anything that involves hip muscles, not sure about squats, they are more front of thighs aren't they.
Definitely can manage normal crunches, will give them a go, hate my jelly belly :-)
I found that if I let the courgette strips dry for a bit before I actually used them, it was much nicer, it was a bit slimy once before. It went well with absolutely any pasta sauce I tried it with :)
Hi
Due to a leg injury that is getting progressively worse, I can't really do anything that involves much lower body movement. I am starting physio next week, but there is little prospect of it helping and am likely to need surgery soon.
I used to walk 4 miles a day, and also used to run 2-3...
I have a 750ml bottle at my desk, and drink about 3 of those during the work day, plus another 2 pints or so of water at home, so think I'm around 3 litres a day, excluding tea and coffee (as I have no idea how big my mug is :))
Thanks Pippa, I literally use 2, so that would be 1 in each portion, will weight them and see how it works out, hopefully low, and if not will probably jsut leave them out :)
Well, went to the shop, got myself some spaghetti hoops adn laughing cow blue cheese triangles, with tangerines for afterwards. Then a packet of Walkers Pops jumped into my basket, but at least at 5 syns they are a better choice than other things would have been.
For the last few months, my...
For some reason doing a chicken in mine terrifies me! I did love coming home from work to a roast dinner though, I make a sort of roast potato in the frying pan with frylight, so felt like the real thing :)
Don't know what I did yesterday, but my leg is killing me today, was so distracted that I forgot to pick up my fruit for the day, so all I have in the office are 2 mugshots. I may have to brave going to the shop at lunch as there is no way that will get me through the day!
Tonight's dinner is...
Dubchick, do you have a slow cooker?
I got a joint of beef from my butcher, think it was beef skirt (had never heard of it but it was on special), and it had practically no fat on it at all. I put three balls of foil in the bottom of my slow cooker, with a bit of beef stock (literally just...
I never used to drink diet drinks, my mum was completely against artificial sweeteners. Last year I did start to drink much more pepsi max, probably some every day. I was on my own one night as my hubby was away, and had 2 gins and slimline...within an hour I was throwing up, dizzy, hardly...
Hi
I have 4 stone to lose, but I first want to look like I did in my avatar photo, which was 2 stone ago. Sadly that was only taken in June last year at my hen party, so I would really like to be at the 2 stone by June again.
Hi
I love how chatty you guys are. I'm doing well I think, will see what the scales say tomorrow though...
My best friend was round last night and we actually measured the gin rather than sloshing it in to the glasses, so I know I had my 10 syns, much better than our normal 2 bottles of wine!
I had my 10 syns of gin (why does that found worse that 2 doubles!), but did then have 1.5 syns of jelly, so 11.5 syns today.
Dinner was just a pork fried rice, syn free
I never thought I would enjoy running, did 2 marathons but took a while to think if myself as a runner. Now I can't do it I realise I did actually enjoy it. Such good exercise, no matter how you do it!
Absolutely, that was what I meant when I said it was faster to eat.
I have been known to mash 2 bananas on a slice if toast, but would never sit and eat two.
Hi, can I join you guys? I started last week, so first weigh in is when I get home from work on Thursday. Trying really hard, so fingers crossed for a decent loss
I was always told that it was because you are likely to eat more. A banana is full of fruit sugars in it's natural state, mashing it doesn't change any of the nutritional content or structure, and no idea how it is meant to remove fibre! I looked into this before as my hubby wanted to know the...
I've got my best friend coming round tonight for a bit of a girly night as she's just split from her man. Planning on having a couple of gins with her rather than the couple of bottles of wine we would normally have, so that will save some syns. If I have 4 then that's within my allowance, and...
Paprika Pork (adapted from SW website recipe) (2 servings)
2 red onions, sliced
1 red pepper, deseeded and cut into chunks
200g lean pork fillet, cut into chunks
2tsp - 2 tblsp smoked paprika depending on how much you like it
300ml chicken stock
2 tbsp fat free natural fromage frais (free) or...
The paprika pork was brilliant, my favourite thing so far, and seemed easy, DH did the cooking tonight though. Shared my jelly again, so think I have got through today with just one syn. Will have a chunk of cheese as a HEA to finish off the day, never seem to manage to get two HEA in a day...
Decided that we will have some Paprika pork, made with loads of sauce and only a little pork, with a huge bowl of rice for dinner, can't wait!
Also got my hairdresser coming tonight, so finally get rid of my roots
Not feeling so great today, my leg is really painful, but I'm not going to give in to my normal comfort eating with the excuse taht I need to line my stomach for painkillers!
Didn't manage any breakfast, had planned to have an omlette, but slept in, so just 2 meals today.
Lunch
BBQ beef...
What are the McCains Jackets like? I have a microwave at work, and an oven, but never remember to put a potato on to bake in time for lunch, if those are only 1 syn and tasty, might be worth a shot
I always found I got stuck after the first stone. Plus i was getting comments about how I didn't need to lose more weight (even though was still obese, just seem to carry it well!).
What are your favourite meals on SW? Could you plan a week of eating all your favourite things, or SW versions of...
I think there is a separate book for the other plans. See how you get on, and you could ask your consultant about red and green if you still don't think you are managing the 1/3 free. Soup is brilliant, if I have some before my main course, I am so full!
Remember red days are still allowed, I actually prefer doing them or green days as I didn't do so well trying to get 1/3 super free each meal. Good to try extra easy though, it works brilliantly for so many people
After DH and I managed a 2 mile walk (me with the help of my crutch), I've been stuck on the sofa all afternoon. Got my dinner made, basically syn free!
So, today meals have been
Brunch
Hash Browns
potato scones (3 syns)
BBQ beans
Garlic mushrooms
HEB of olive oil
coffee
Dinner
fried rice-...
Most super free can be blitzed in a sauce so you would really not know they were there, or in a soup. Do you like any fruit? If you really aren't a fan, maybe doing original or green days might work better for you as you have no need to include super free (though for general health they are a boost)
I find liz Earle stuff great, but to be honest I think it is using the muslin cloths that makes the biggest difference, think they gently exfoliate or something. I also use a body shop microdermabrasion scrub about once a week, I need it in winter as my skin gets very dry.
Well, the potato scones were not great, hash browns a success, and mushrooms were yummy. Will play about with my recipe for the tattle scones and see what happens...
No idea what I'm doing for dinner tonight, but will involve my HEB of pork as thanks to a tesco.com error, we got 2kg of pork for £4.50!
Just making a brunch for DH and I, trying the hash browns, and also trying potato scones (guess what we ave to use up...). Think the hash browns are free...
Hi
Thought I would say hi to everyone on here, spent most of the day reading through posts, got some really helpful ideas.
I've done slimming world twice in the past, lost about 11lbs each time, stopped both times as it just wasn't working for me, though realistically it was that I wasn't...
I was getting hungry, and about to start cooking dinner, with DH told me he had a meeting to go to! Normally this would have meant me going to the shop for some crisps and chocolate, but instead made some pasta and had a mini milky bar, so pleased with myself!
I started back again this week too. I did the 5:2 diet for a while, but due to the number of painkillers I need to take, I need to be able to eat, so SW was an obvious choice to try again. The ability of being able to eat enough to not be hungry is a huge benefit
Hope you get on well x
I am convinced that until the invention of easy peel tangerines, they all peeled easily...just broke a nail peeling one, and took forever to do the other one!
Started back on slimming world yesterday, doing it from home as I can't afford to go to group anymore. Annoyingly I have lost one of my books so having to search for syns, but hoping I can manage.
Friday-green day
Breakfast
Tangerine
coffee
Lunch
tikka mug shot (1syn)
Heinz lentil soup (HEB)...
