    love/loath quark?

Love it! Fry some onions and garlic, mix half a tub of quark with an egg, add to the fried onions and cook slowly for a delicious, creamy carbonara sauce. And if you have a HEx A or B to spare on cheese to melt in, even better. Yummy yummy!

Has SW stopped working for anybody?

Hmm... I must admit that although I am losing on SW, it is A LOT slower than I used to lose with WW. I, however, prefer SW so am trying to stick with it and see how it goes for the minute. The problem for me with SW is that there is nothing really limiting your intake like when you are...

    havin a wobble ....

Hi Janey, I actually think you deserve a huge WELL DONE! I don't know if you're anything like me, but when I go into binge mode, there is no way I'm sticking to free foods... So I can only congratulate you for having done so :) Our food issues will not go away overnight (we've generally...

Thai curry - coconut milk substitute?

Oops - sorry. Only just seen this. Coconut essence is really hard to find! I ended up ordering it online from Jane Asher Party Cakes. See link: JANE ASHER Party Cakes | Edibles - Flavourings | Coconut It's quite expensive, but the bottle will last you years (any more than 1 drop of the...

Thai curry - coconut milk substitute?

I haven't tried this yet, but I read a thread on another forum where people (one of them was actually Thai and says her family cannot tell the difference...) use soya milk + coconut essence instead of cocount milk. You can use this as a HEx A and not even count the syns :)

    cheesy!

Ooh, yeah. I love the Cathedral City Light - I've been eating low fat cheese for yonks and couldn't believe how good this was when I first tried it. Could have sworn I'd picked up the wrong pack...!

    New to Slimming World

Hello and welcome! I tend to use all my syns as well (105 throughout the week) and it hasn't been affecting my losses, so enjoy them! Good luck for your first WI on Tues, and let us know how you get on! :)

    I'm struggling.....

Hey Gail, You can get a 1.8ltr slow cooker in Asda for £8 - and it's even dishwasher proof!! This is the one I have and I LOVE it!!! :)

    I'm struggling.....

Yum! All sounds great!! FYI, Morrison's Eat Smart pork sausages are free on Original and Extra Easy days. Also, for pasta, if you like creamy sauces, try using a whisked egg + quark - add this to your veggies/meat a few mins before serving just to cook quickly and then mix with the pasta. It...

Think I am eating too much

Hi Ladylite, TBH, although maybe you feel you ate a lot quantity-wise, it didn't seem too much to me! All of the food you listed is really healthy and scores very highly on the energy-density scale. As CocktailPrincess says, we need to forget this 'eating is bad' mentality and give ourselves...

    I'm a fat pig!

6 weeks ago and I could have written that... Honestly! I did WW back in 2004/05, lost 3 stone and got to goal (and was happier than ever!!). Within a year of getting to goal on WW I had put most of it back on, and now in 2009 I started SW 2 stone heavier than I was when I started WW :( Ever...

    breakfast ideas

All excellent ideas! :D If you're short on time in the mornings, don't be afraid to cook omlette the night before and eat it cold over the next few mornings (Spanish style!) - it's just as yummy that way!

    Was today's menu ok???

Hi Gail, Looks great to me! If you count your milk as your 2 HEx A, and your cheese and bread as your 2 HEx B, then you've had an ideal first day with 9.5 Syns! :) Enjoy the rest of the week!

How many syns does everyone else have?

So far I've been having around 105 per week (averages 15 per day) - which seems like loads! :) I've been losing well so far, so I'm happy with that amount. If my weight loss slows then I'll cut back a little. But until that becomes an issue, bring on the wine and chocolate!!! ;)

Been a silly silly boy :(

Oops! No harm done though - 2 pastries won't undo all the hard work you have put it so far, as long as it doesn't happen too often...! In reality, the pastries won't have the chance to do any damage to you within the few hours before your WI, so you should get away with it tonight at the...

    Staying to class

I have to stay! Otherwise I tend to lose motivation - the threat of getting on the scales and gaining (and then having to talk about the gain during Image Therapy) is normally enough to help me stay focused throughout the week...! For me there is no point paying the £4.50 unless I stay...

    What's for dinner tonight....?

Mmmm... All sounds yummy! I'm following Green today and having Spaghetti Carbonara. Will make the carbonara sauce with onion in Frylight, gamon cubes (HEx B), quark, egg and cheese (HEx A). Saving my Syns for a mini Magmun for dessert...! ;)

Where the bargains are at and anything else thats useful.

Sorry if I'm repeating, but noticed the other day that mini Babybels are BOGOF in Sainsbury's (HEx A). Also, Asda have offers on Batchelour's Pasta n Sauce / Savoury Rice, Sammy's Couscous, and Ainsley Harriott Couscous (most of which are FREE on green!) Morrisons has Crosse & Blackwell...

i know im not supposed to but i just cant help weighing myself daily

Haha - I'm the same, but I tend to fluctuate throughout the week and get really down when the scales show a gain! I'm trying to only get on them every few days, but it's too tempting...!! :) Well done - 10lbs in 2 weeks is a FANTASTIC loss!

Yep - my first week I did only Green days and lost 3.5lbs! Stick with what works for you, and then perhaps think about varying it if your weight loss slows down. Enjoy!!

    freezing sw chips

I did 1 week of Ex Es and lost 1.5lbs - which I was happy with, but I think I will lose a bit quicker following either Original or Green. I was blown away by Ex Es though as it didn't feel as though I was on a diet at all!

    easy curry recipe????

Me again...!! You can try frying onions and garlic in frylight, adding stock and chopped tomatoes, then spices - garam masala, chilli powder, ginger, cumin - this should give you a basic curry sauce. Then add veg and either chickpeas or tandoori chicken fillets (depending which day you are...

Hey! Thanks for your reply to my post just now. I've been doing mainly green days, though trying now to be a little more inventive and have had an original day today. I had a full English breakfast this morning (yum!). How about you - which plan do you follow most? In reply to your question...
