Thanks Skonions :) Yeah it was a midwife I'd never seen before too, she had no idea of my history or anything! I spoke to my regular midwife about it and she said not to worry too much, just to be sensible. Anyway, I hope all the babies due now come soon, I was induced with my daughter...

    SW and Pregnant

Well i have tried to get productive today. I have been meaning to paint this chest of drawers for ages for the baby's room. So I finally did it this morning. Also sorted out a few boring bank bits too. I'm going to make lunch now then try and do my hypnotherapy cd this afternoon.

Have to say those magic pancakes were delicious! Not sure I would use the syns for the honey again though, would probably stick to splenda, although it did make them feel more decadent! I'm off for a pregnancy massage in a bit, can't wait! And NCT class in the evening - must avoid the...

I'm due 18th November and have got back on plan to try to minimise my weight gain over the last 10 (or 12 if overdue!!) weeks. The midwife at the hospital had a bit of a go at me a few weeks ago about getting...

    SW and Pregnant

Ok, new food diary on here to help me try to minimise any weight gain in the last 10 weeks of my pregnancy. My weight has been up and down since I was 5 or 6, going from healthy weights to grossly overweight (in my eyes). Anyway, I lost weight and got to a healthy weight for my wedding last...

    My Vegetarian Atkins Diary

Well this is what it says on the atkins website (easier to copy than the book, which obv I do have!). Atkins for Vegetarians It’s perfectly possible to be a vegetarian—or simply minimize your intake of animal protein, add variety to your meals and trim your food budget—and still do Atkins...

    My Vegetarian Atkins Diary

Thanks all! Jim - are you unsure that it'll work being veggie? The NANY book does say that Atkins is fine for veggies, and even vegans! I don't think I'm going to put my food diaries on here from each day, as I do use myfitnesspal and it's a bit of a faff transferring it over, unless anyone...

Hi Jim, Thanks for your reply. Yes I have the book and have spent a good few hours going through various posts on here, so I think I'm getting it! I'm using myfitnesspal to record my food - seems useful! One thing that has worried me a bit though is looking at the atkins official forum...

    My Vegetarian Atkins Diary

Hi everyone, I've posted a bit on the low GI boards before as I was following the food doctor plan to loose weight for my wedding. Well, I got there and I enjoyed the plan but by the end of it I was reducing my carbs to a level where I was basically following a diluted version of Atkins. I'm...

    Food Doctor

I know it's really changed my way of eating completely :) I'm seeing it more as changing the way I eat rather than a short term diet, although of course I have my short term goal of looking good in my wedding dress! I have my fitting next week so fingers crossed for another couple of pounds...

Gender split & motivations for loss

My personal motivation is looks which depressingly for me links directly to my self worth. It's awful but it's how I feel, but I really think that people like slim people more than big people. In no way am I saying that that is fair, but it's how I see the world. Links quite a bit to...

Yeah it was great, hard work but not too bad really, if you enjoy! We did have a few people drop out but think that only really happens if you don't know what it's like. I couldn't do secondary - I did a bit as part of my course. SEN was fab but not mainstream!! Good luck anyway! xxx

    quinoa and oats?

I think you can get the flakes in Holland and Barrett. I remember trying it years ago when on a previous low GI diet. AS Irish Molly said, the flakes would cook in the same time as the oats I think, but the 'normal' quinoa takes about 15 - 20 mins so much longer. xxx
